Podcasts?

uh, y'know, the sounds that sound good together... sometimes... and sometimes sounds like the disgusting "squish squish" sound Slicker's mom makes whenever she walks

Podcasts?

Post by Diabolical »

Anyone listen to any podcasts?

I have several podcasts I listen to every week (or whenever they happen to get released).

Slashfilmcast - from the film blog/website slashfilm.com. The three hosts, Dave, Adam & Devindra, discuss the films they've been watching this past week, film news of the week and one in-depth review of a new release. They are frequently joined by either fellow film bloggers/podcasters and people in the movie industry (mostly up & coming directors), such as: Rian Johnson (director of Brick & The Brothers Bloom), Kyle Newman (director of Fanboys), Vincenzo Natali (director of Splice) and more. And nearly every week there is a bonus episode called the "After Dark," which can range from listener emails to something they didn't get to in the regular show to whatever they feel like talking about.

The Tobolowsky Files - a spin-off of the slashfilmcast. David (of the slashfilmcast) hosts famous character actor Stephen Tobolowsky (best know as Ned Ryerson from Groundhog Day) as he tells stories about his life, love and the entertainment industry.
Often moving, always entertaining, I'd recommend this podcast to anyone that loves a great story.

Smodcast - Director Kevin Smith and his frequent producer Scott Mosier talk about anything and everything with hilarious results. If you are a fan of Smith or his movies (and aren't easily offended by crude sex jokes), then you should find this one funny.

The Forcecast - Star Wars. Duh.

Comic News Insider - A (you guessed it) comic book podcast, with reviews, news, interviews & more. There are a bunch of comic book podcasts out there, but this is the only one that has grabbed and held my attention, probably because they often stray into other geek-related areas, like tv, movies, animation, etc.

And on occasion, I'll browse through NPR.org and download a few things, especially This American Life.

i've always meant to start listening to podcasts, but never really have the time. i've DL'd a few installments of the 'atomic podcast' from the guys that create atomic robo:

but never really listened to much of them. thanks for the recommendations, though! i should check some of those out.
Life is short. STUNT IT!

I enjoyed it from the start, but it took me a couple of episodes to really love The Tobolowsky Files.
Stephen Tobolowsky is a great storyteller and has had such an interesting life.
He is the definition off character actor; one of those guys that you know his face, but not his name. His IMDB resume is 200 entries long.

I started listening to the Forcecast a little over a year ago, when you recommended it elsewhere. I don't listen to everything they put out, but a lot of it is fun. The Clone Wars roundtables are usually pretty interesting.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.
