Guess how the "bonus" ending to GIJoe Renegades went?


Though if they don't come back and do a season 2, I'll drive to Rhode Island and kill all their dogs. That was one hell of a finale. That show must continue; it's better than the original, and, fuck it, better than Resolute.

I think JJL is psychic, too. He answered a Star Wars question for me before I finished typing it.

There may be a couple episodes I missed. I saw the last two, but the last one I saw before that was around the middle of June. It certainly was better than the original. Let's face it, the original was ok back in the day when we were kids, but it kind of sucks now. I liked Resolute, too. Not sure which I liked better. Renegades gave some good origins. Its the first time I understood Zartan. Flint & Lady Jaye seemed to disappear, unless something happened to them in the episodes I missed. It also had plenty of connections to the original. Renegades seemed like a better and version of the original. Actually having characters get killed helped it, too.

The whole thing is making me consider reading some of the comics. The problem is I don't know where to start.

Pretty high body count for a kids' show. They spent have the series thinking Ripcord was dead. We saw the Hard Master die. Firefly and even motherfucking Destro got blown to bits (though we don't see body parts, so they could say either or both survived, and Baroness and Mindbender are stuck in a wormhole with no way to get out since the MASS Device was destroyed. And Hawk knew all along the Joes were innocent, it seems, and has put together a pretty honkin' awesome team based on the earlier "cameo Joes."

Ripcord should have stayed dead. The Bio Viper thing didn't do much for me. But it is a kids show, so they can't have Snake-Eyes cutting up a bunch of Cobra Infantry. I forgot about Firefly. Missed the part about Destro. One of my kids distracted me while I was watching the last episode. Missed what happened to Cobra Commander, too.

Tomax & Xamot kind of disappeared. I know they were being used by Mindbender at one point. Did they escape?

Mindbender was another character that was way better in the modern era than the 80s. Does the Hub only play the early seasons of the 80s GI Joe? I don't recall seeing Mindbender in any of the episodes they aired. They always use some other generic mad scientist for everything.

Tomax and Xamot escaped. They were using (for a few minutes) their powers to control Baroness and Mindbender in a battle to the death, but had to high-tail it out of there. Both Mindbender and Baroness were sucked into a wormhole; if they continue it, they could have a good reason to make Mindbender bald. Destro was in the cockpit of a HISS in the final episode, when Roadblock chucked a rocket into the cockpit and shot it; if the show ends, he's dead, but, if not, they'll say he escaped. Cobra Commander fell into the Bio-Viper material, which appeared to be acidic. At the very end of the episode, he pulls his burned self out--showing a full-on facial view for the first time in any cartoon, even if it's partly in shadow--and swears vengeance.

And the Hub still is only playing seasons 1-2 of the old show in heavy rotation. Not sure why they won't move on to season 3.
