Now tell me that you didn't mistakenly read the word "Mabudong" in the fifth paragraph.

Re: Read this article
I love the comments section in articles like that, because the creationists inevitably stick their ignorant heads in the door.
And one response a few comments later.lovinglove | 37 minutes ago
Jessica, Learn to respect others opinions. You come off as ignorant and childish. I believe in God too. Respect that. I respect your belief in the "Universe." We all have different opinions, learn 2 accept that and GROW UP.

As you bash someone for having an opinion. And did you just put the Universe in quotations like it was something that doesn't exist?

I don't know what's worse: creationists who don't realize that believing in evolution and science does not preclude a belief in a god, or evangelical atheists who feel the need to insult the intelligence of everyone who isn't an atheist.

I'm basically an athiest. I don't care what other people believe and will not tell others what to think. Its religious freedom.
However, I do think creationists are silly.
I took a geology class. The teacher was a younger professor (35-40 years old). On the first day, he said that anyone who thinks the world is 6,000 years old isn't going to like the class. He went on saying that this is geology and not theology, so we wouldn't be discussing that part any further. Pretty cool professor.

I used to hang out with this guy in High School, and his parents were conservatives. His dad watched Rush Limbaugh all the time and quoted his like the gospel (that was actually the first I'd ever heard of Rush) and somehow we got on the topic of world being 6,000 years old. Hesitantly, I was like "Yeahhh...I don't think that's true..." and she went on and on about whatever "facts" those people use and then I brought up carbon dating, and his mom looked at me an honest to god said "Carbon Dating is only accurate up to 10,000 years!" I just stared at her, wondering if she realized what she said was about the stupidest thing I'd ever heard.
That's when I realized creationists (and Rush fans) were morons.

Re: Read this article
First day of Biology 200 (2nd year general bio, I was taking this as my major) the prof said something about people complaining about them not spending any time on creationist theories. He invited us to enjoy a moment of silence to fill that quota - also very funny & memorable.
