There is a decent selection of OT characters. I could live without Mosep Binneed and Tzizvvt. The POTF2 Yakface kind of blows by current standards. Piett kind of falls into the same boat.
Not sure why Sgt. Doallyn has to be in a fan poll to be made. Plenty of characters more obscure him have been made. And you would think they could have made a definitive ROTJ Palpatine by now.
Sim Aloo, Nitko Guard, and Death Squad Commander should be produced just based on the fact they were in the vintage line. I had the original Death Squad Commander. His head popped off and my parents re-attached it with a screw. Unfortunately that figure, along with most of my other toys I had as a kid, is long gone.
My vote is going to Toryn Farr. Seems like fans have been asking for her for years with no luck. She's the one on the list I don't see Hasbro making unless she wins the poll.

She and Jocasta Nu. I would have to agree, of all the figures on the list Sgt. Doallyn was very likely to be made, win or lose.

I think Torryn has a slight chance. Jaxxon needs tangible support or he will never be made.
Of course, Hasbro would rather keep churning out Tatooine Lukes long after he became a joke.

I wanted to vote for the mosquito but Nark convinced me to vote for the rabbit.
He will look great next to the Teek battle pack from Star Tours !!!

I saw both Tauntauns at Target.
So, Han's is $25, and comes in cool window packaging, and includes Han and that onetime canceled Build-A-Droid Rebel Trooper resculpt who's now seeing his third Target-exclusive release. And Luke's is in a vintage-styled box with no figures... and is also $25.
Yeah, that makes sense.
I had to pass. I never thought I'd say this, but the combination of rising prices and long droughts has made it so that I couldn't even make myself buy Tauntauns. Some of my favorite SW movie creatures, from my favorite SW movie. But when it's $50 to get two creatures who don't look dramatically different from the 1990s ones, it's a bit tougher to pull the trigger.

And passed on the black Endor Trooper tonight. It feels really quite strange to pass on so many Star Wars figures. Sad thing is, the ones I really want I probably won't find. I want that damned Nom Anor, but who knows if he'll show up now that the fucking repaint wave is clogging pegs.

A black Endor Trooper?
I'll get one if I see it. The only "new" stuff I've seen recently has been vintage a carded Stormtrooper and TIE Pilot. There were also some prequel figures that might have been new (AOTC, I think).
Is there a list of upcoming figures with release dates? I can't seem to remember what is coming out and when.

The Nom Anor wave was pushed to 2012, so the repaint wave shouldn't affect it at all. I'm hoping that everything will be reset when the TPM stuff comes out, but I'm not completely sure on that.

According to
Hasbro's panel, the so-far-revealed 2012 Vintage figures are as follows:
Wave 1 - The Phantom Menace - January 30 (hard street date)
75. Qui-Gon Jinn
76. Obi-Wan Kenobi
77. Ratts Tyerell & Pit Droid
78. Battle Droid
79. Darth Sidious
80. Anakin Skywalker
81. Ben Quadinaros & Otoga-222
82. Daultay Dofine
83. Naboo Royal Guard
84. Queen Amidala
85. Quinlan Vos
86. Darth Maul
Wave 2 - Return of the Jedi Deleted Scenes - March
87. Luke Skywalker (Lightsaber Construction)
88. Princess Leia Organa (Sandstorm)
89. Lando Calrissian (Sandstorm)
90. Rebel Commander (General Cracken)
91. Rebel Pilot (Mon Calamari)
Wave 3 - April
92. Anakin Skywalker (The Clone Wars)
93. Darth Vader (A New Hope)
94. Imperial Navy Commander
95. Luke Skywalker (Hoth Battle Gear)
96. Darth Malgus
Wave 4 - Delayed Figures - April
28. Wedge Antilles
56. Kithaba
57. Dr. Evazan
58. Aayla Secura
59. Nom Anor
60. Clone Trooper (501st Legion)
Wave 5 - Re-release Figures - April
21. Gamorrean Guard
50. Han Solo (Bespin Outfit)
51. Barriss Offee (Jedi Padawan)
52. Rebel Fleet Trooper
53. Bom Vimdin (Cantina Patron)
54. ARC Trooper Commander
55. Logray
Aside from the January 30 stuff, after that there's no hard release, so those projections could be completely off (as they sometimes end up being). As for other non-figure stuff, that slideshow is pretty good at telling what all is coming (though some of the Movie Heroes figures shown are the wrong ones, but whatever).

You are a wealth of knowledge. Thanks.
There are only five or six I might get from that list. It's been a long time since the last Hoth Luke, right?
My budget for Star Wars gets less and less every year. But, Hasbro will probably get my money from GI Joe instead.

they should re-release Wicket instead of Logray.

I found a pretty cool error on the Endor Trooper. First of all, the card said "Revenge of the Jedi," which obviously means it's a rare misprint. Second, the card showed a white dude, but the figure was black! I couldn't pass on it!
(Actually, my gamble to save 5% by waiting for him to show up at Target paid off, and in spades, since they're on sale this week.)

I bought my first SW figures in forever this week. The boy has been playing Force Unleashed II while he's here and loves the Starkiller. So I got him that overpriced 5-pack TRU exclusive for Christmas.

just wanted to point out that your use of the expression "in spades" in that particular situation was masterful, Anarky

The last all-new Hoth Luke was released in late 2003/early 2004. He's been repainted without the red facial scars in a few sets since then, but not since 2007.
Sleazer wrote:they should re-release Wicket instead of Logray.
Wicket's currently shipping in both Return and Revenge flavors. I've seen him a few times, which is a lot more than I saw him during his first release last year. Logray's actually shipping right now as well, but only on Return. I think they're just lumping him with the rest of the wave, which I only saw maybe twice, so I can't say it's a terrible idea to get that one out again.
