elsewhere are rather amusing. A few people have convinced themselves that Vader's not in Wave 1 because they want to "pull out all the stops" and make an "amazing" Vader.
Yeah, like that one month of production time will make
that much difference.

I really wanted to go there and talk shit about them (and Beast in particular calling Maul a "main" character) but it's just not worth it.

I know you're kidding, but there is no way the line lasts long enough for them to get to Lando.
RoIIo Tomassi wrote:It's a slippery slope. You say you'll only buy Vader. But then you buy a couple Stormtroopers to go with him. Then you say I'm only gonna get a few of the main ANH characters like Luke, Han, Leia, Ben, the Droids, etc. Then you'll want the Boba Fett because he looks nice. Then you'll get a few peripheral characters. Then you'll start in on the main Prequel characters. Then you'll want Kit Fisto and Plo Koon because they look pretty sweet. By then they'll be rereleasing a better ANH Han and Luke and an R2 that has all his widget attachments. Then youll want the big ass Jabba deluxe figgy for $45. And then Slave Leia will be a mailaway if you buy 10 figures and you kinda want a couple extra Clone Troopers and a Lando and a few Bounty Hunters anyway...
Pretty soon, you turn around and you've dropped $10k because the figures are $20 a pop and you say what the fuck happened!?!
Exactly what I'm afraid of except for the part about the prequel figures. No way I'd buy those.

If they got around to Jawas and Ewoks, I'd have a hell of a time passing on those.
Otherwise, I can see both the "I'll just get Vader" stance and the slippery slope thing. Those two are battling in my mind.
I'd get grinnin' AOTC Kit Fisto in a heartbeat, slippery slope or not. Thing is, Hasbro kinda doesn't seem to accept that that costume is much better than the shitty ROTS mask (really, why the fuck did they redesign it?), and have yet to make a smiling version, despite that being his most iconic look, so I doubt they'd do it in a bigger scale first. So that'd be a big old moot point.

Yeah, I'd start with R2. Then "need" C-3PO. Then somehow rationalize Boba Fett and Yoda. And so on.

I'd be interested in a few, like Vader, Artoo and Threepio but not at $20 a pop.
Fuck that, especially $20 for Artoo.

If you're not following it, look elsewhere. It's funny as shit. Two folks (the two who've done 99% of the Black Series posting) took a rumor about an SDCC figure and are running with it like God came down from the sky and gave it to Moses on tablets.
I really, really feel bad for some of these people when this line tanks.

On the back of the Target 3-packs, there is a third set with R2, C-3PO, and Chewbacca. I don't recall ever seeing that one in the stores. Did it get nixed or did I just completely forget about it?

It was released a little while back in the previous wave and was not shipped with the Snaggletooth/Power Droid wave despite being on the back of their packaging.

Ok. I must have just forgot about it. When I searched ebay, only one came up. They said it was rare and wanted $125. When someone on ebay says something is rare, I don't always believe them.

I saw the Maul, Oppress and Night Sister 3 pack for $10.
I almost bought it for certain member's nearly 7-year-old Star Wars loving boy, but ended up not buying it because I remembered he's also got a nearly 7-year-old girl and I don't know shit about what toys girls like.
I may pick it up next time and save it for their birthday if they still have it next time.

That piece of shit's been on clearance for $10 since before Christmas. I expected it to be marked further down by now. I'd buy it for less for the supposed Nightsister (it's a vintage-style Sith Witch figure that was never used and just released here despite being nothing like the Nightsisters from the real EU or the Clone Wars) and throw the other two in the garbage or something. But they're gone here. Ah well, big deal.

I hate to sound alarmist, but I'm almost prepared to say "Modern Star Wars Collecting: 1995-2013."
I hope I'm wrong, but there's no fucking way this cheapo line they're introducing won't scavenge peg space from regular figures.

Judging from your post, it doesn't sound like much 3.75" Star Wars is coming out.
Any chance the new Weequay, Nein Numb, Nikto, and Lumat show up in stores, or should I just order them from Amazon? I think I'll skip the Pruneface. The price on Amazon for the Royal Guard is ridiculous, so I'll won't buy him.
Edit: I saw part of a list of stuff. More KMart exclusives? Ewok Catapult and Imperial Scanning Crew? I guess that's fine. Another Biggs pilot? Somebody is getting a lot of use out of that rebel pilot mold.

You should probably order them. They might get re-released, but who knows.
As for the comment, I hope I'm wrong, but.... There's a new line with an MSRP of $6, geared toward kids, with all main characters, and, uh, five points of articulation. I'm rather concerned, because they're the same size as the regular figures, at half the cost. Regardless of what Hasbro or collectors want, the retailers are going to look at them and say, "Hmmm... same footprint as the $11 line, half the cost, all main characters, and probably a quicker turnaround." At least some peg space is destined to be lost to this new line.
Combine that with the new Black Series line, which Hasbro is hyping as being for collectors while the new Saga Legends line is for kids, and some stores (being kinda head-up-ass when it comes to this stuff) might say, "Hmm, why the hell do we need this middle line?" and not realize it's the "real" one.
Oh, and the figures include fucking Darth Vader and Yavin Ceremony Luke resculpts. So what little space is left for them will be clogged with shit really quickly.

I saw pictures on RS and the other site. No one has pictures of the KMart sets yet. There really isn't much to get excited about. Ceremonial Luke is bad. I might get the Biker Scout. The R2/C-3PO set might be ok, but I need those like I need another Vader. And that's about it. I guess it will let me focus on GI Joe.
