The first Matrix was good. The less said about 2 and 3 the better.

Watched the new Matrix movie finally.
While it didn’t suck, it felt very unnecessary. And the first one was groundbreaking in terms of action, visual effects, and story. This one was none of those.
Then you realized this only got made because Lana Wachowski was sad about her parents dying and wanted to give Neo and Trinity a happy ending they didn’t get in the original movies. That’s all this is. Neo and Trinity fanfic where they both live, laugh, and love.
You can skip it.

Saw John Wick 4 tonight. Now that they’ve established in-universe that their suit jackets are in fact tactical bulletproof vests, it becomes almost comical watching Wick repeatedly lift his jacket to cover his face constantly to avoid gunfire. And he absurdly survives like 18 cars running into him. Not to mention falling more than three stories at least twice and getting up relatively unbroken. I laughed out loud when he got kicked after he had climbed the entire 222 steps of the Sacre Couer and rolled all the way to the fucking bottom.
It amazes me that the mythology of these films suggests an entire society of hidden assassins running around in the world, and yet the majority of these clowns get killed en masse every twenty minutes or so. I get that Wick is supposed to be the cream of the crop, but damn these guys are shitty cannon fodder for being professional killers.
I loved all three hours of it. Ridiculous fun.
