K-Mart has a buy 1 get 1 half off on Legos for their first 6 hours on Friday. Not sure if that is worth braving the crowd for.
Now that you mention it, I'm not sure what the "hard to find" thing is supposed to be this year. My wife said something about Xia-Xia Hermit Crabs, but they have been getting easier to find.

Anything GIJoe that's been released since the Arctic Destro wave last year, but isn't Renegades. Of course, they're impossible to get for different reasons.

KMart has a generally shitty selection of Legos, IMO.

That was usually some artificially created demand by the douchers on Good Morning America anyway.

The only "hot" item I've heard about this year is a Kindle Fire, but that ain't exactly a kid's toy.
Speaking of which, I really want one of those mofos bad. Not so much the ebook part (but I know someone who knows how to get some books free if I want 'em bad enough), but rather the wifi internet and Netflix capabilities.

Am I reading this Barnes and Noble Black Friday ad right?

50% off any one educational toy item? If so, I'm ordering the Lego Earth Defence HQ.
And here is BBTS's Black Friday sale.

I guess now's an appropriate time to ask why you crackers think they'll honor any of these deals for your white asses on Black Friday?

They were stupid and printed the discounts on paper. We've got them by the balls.

My sister-in-law wanted to make sure she got to Wal-Mart in time to get the $5 Disney Princess dolls.
I told her I'd much rather just pay the extra $4 if I were in need of them. Some deals are hardly worth dealing with the crowds.

I just about choked when I saw a US BestBuy ad offering 42" hdtvs for 199 - we literally JUST got my folks one at that size for $700.

Here's how my BF adventure went.
Went to WM at 10:15. Lines were already so thick there was a line of shopping carts five wide blocking the entrance ("Fire hazard." was my first thought). First strolled thru Toys looking for HotWheels set the Boy wants. No sign of it. Head back to Electronics and pick up Arkham City. Ask an employee where the HotWheels CrissCrossCrash set is. She sends me towards the grocery side of the store. Still no sign of HotWheels. Find the cheap DVD and game pallets near the bakery and decide to get X-Men First Class for $9. On my back towards front of store, walk by a lone HotWheels set laying in the oranges in Produce section. Take it. Head to check out. About 15 minute wait in line. A good start to the evening. I'm out the door at 10:48.
Next head to TRU. Supposed to have opened at 9:00 but not opening until 11:00. Wait outside in a short line for about 5-10 minutes. Head inside a little after 11:00. Head back to Video Games and pick up Skylanders 3-packs BOGO Free. Wander around store for a bit but dont see much else. Get in LONG checkout line that weaves thru the entire baby dept. Takes about 30 minutes but my buddy in CA is also Midnite shopping so he calls and kills the time. Out the door by 11:48.
Next I drive across town to Target/Best Buy. Arrive in Target Parking lot at exactly midnite but have to park in Party Discount Store lot. Very busy. The line to get in wraps around Target. Decide to go into BB first. Wait in that line for about five minutes. First thing after I get in is grab AC Revelations. Then I grab BigBang Season 4 for my sister and Jarhead and Miami Vice in the 99 cent DVD bin for me. Get in the Interminably Long checkout line at about 12:20. Wait in line. Wait in line more. Back starts to hurt. Still waiting as line slowly snakes thru entire store. Still waiting. Seriously? Around 1:50 get close to front of store and see AllStar Superman and Watchmen DVDs for $3.99. Decide to get those as well. A little after 2:00 (yeah.) get out of Best Buy and head next door to Target. The Lego Pyramid set is all gone, but there are still a bajillion Atlantis sets left. All the TV Seasons I was looking to buy are gone. Target a complete wash.
Walk back to my car at 2:30. Head home.
So. WM and TRU relatively painless. BB a nightmare and screwed up my intended Target purchase. Expect a rant.

I bought a Revenge of the Sith card TIE Pilot last night at WalMart around 11pm. The card is in immaculate condition.
My wife is out shopping now...I did some dishes, made the bed, watched some of Boardwalk Empire season 2 On Demand, and now I'm trying to clean up my desk.
Tickle Me Elmo was the big toy 15 years ago when I worked at TRU my freshman year in college. I remember it vividly.

After work (about 8:30ish) I stopped by Best Buy, Target and Wal-Mart. Crowds were't bad by then.
Best Buy:
Breaking Bad Season 3 DVD $13
Green Lantern Blu-Ray/DVD $10
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions PS3 $15
Target:
The Town (Extended Cut) Blu-Ray/DVD $8
Pulp Fiction Blu-Ray $4
Both are pretty damn new releases, too.
Wal-Mart:
Nada. The few cheap ones I looked for were gone(300 Blu-Ray and a few $2 DVDs). I may swing by the other local one later and see if they have anything left.
$50 for about $150 worth of stuff.
And a Pre-Black Friday deal I got was Super 8 Blu-Ray/DVD for $15 with a printed coupon.

Just a food processor, All-Star Superman and Inglorious Basterds on DVD, and a huge fucking shocker (I'll post about in the "What Toys...") thread, all from Wally World.

We headed out around 10am. The crowds were gone.
Gamestop:
2 $10 Nintendo DS games for the kids.
I got Gran Tourismo 5, Burnout Paradise, and Monopoly and a controller for PS3. It was buy 2 get 1 free on used games.
We hit a few other places, but there wasn't anything we really needed. We got home and my wife headed back to Target and and TRU. She picked up a few more things for the kids.
