It's actually quite a good movie. Have a look when you have time.

I've seen the movie, but not played the game. The movie would've done better, I think, if they'd kept the "Rapunzel" title and not tried to market it as a Shrek-type film.

It's also creepy as hell when they do a princess montage and Rapunzel's there with her giant anime eyes.

Got Thomas Skylanders for Christmas & a couple of the extra figures for his stocking. It's Spyro, so I'm guessing it's at least going to be pretty fun if not awesome.

Santa is getting that for my kids as well.

I already finished Lego Indiana Jones 2 (well, except for the creator section, but that doesn't interest me too much) and just started on Lego SW III.

I'm looking at both Skyrim (Elder Scrolls 5) and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, however I had best just relegate myself to playing downstairs on the old systems - I don't think the boss wants me hogging her big tv/couch/dog combo.

Skyrim looks pretty epic...except for the first person part. I can't fucking stand first person. :frus:

I'm about 90% done with Lego SW III. I have to do all those Ground Assault missions.

Picked up the relatively new Duke Nukem Forever for $10 at Walmart, which doesn't bode well for the game, but I played the demo a while back and thought it was decent.

I found Lego Harry Potter Year 1-4 for cheap and I'm about halfway thru it.

EDIT. Lego Harry Potter has just become the 3rd Game on my XBox that I got the Full 1000 Achievement Points on. The first two being Lost:Via Domus and Spidey:Web of Shadows.
Usually I don't come anywhere close because many of the achievements are for online BS, or ridiculously difficult shit like finish a level in 30 seconds!! Or the game is ass and I don't care if I get them all. And a lot of them, I'll get close, like Mafia II, and then they add all the DLC pack-in achievements and instead of 980 out of 1000 I'll have 980 out of 1500.

Anyway, feels good to bat .1000 on a game.

My kids started playing Skylanders almost as soon as they opened it. I even played it for a little while. It's a fun set up. You can have two players at once and you can swap the characters in and out at will. Each character keeps his own $$ and XP as they play, rather than it going into a kitty for the "Player". So if P1 is playing Spyro and earns 500 credits, then switches out and P2 uses Spyro, the 500 goes with Spyro and doesn't stay with the P1 who did the work earning the points. Also, even though Santa got them a couple extra figure 3-packs, he didn't look closely. There are 8 different "styles" of characters (Earth, Tech, Fire, Water, Air, Plant, Magic, and Dark) and certain figures are needed to open certain areas. I only have six of the eight covered. So I went to WM to find two more figures in the Air and Plant groups and of course those are all sold out because they don't come with the game. I'll hit up TRU tomorrow and hope for the best. You can't finish the game completely without one of each Group. That's a brilliant scam.

I also flipped a coin and started AC Revelations instead of Arkham City.

We're in the EXACT same fucking boat, EP. Thomas wanted to zip out yesterday & buy more figures, I told him one from each family was fine but that we are NOT collecting all the figures. Of course, there are NO plant or air figures anywhere to be found. I started checking ebay, but the prices were pretty much double retail for singles across the board, so we're not going there. Having watched a bit of it, I think there is still TONS of game for them to check out with just the figures from the box, let alone any extras they received. I'm not going to overspend, though I must admit I'm tempted. Fucking marketers. :frus:

Yeah, there's lots to do in each level. I like how it gives you the checklist at the end, so it encourages replaying levels to find all the hats, treasures, etc. I even helped my daughter get the time achievements on the first couple levels. We were hauling ass, yelling "Forget THAT! Just go for the key!! Light the cannon while I push the Turtle!!! Aahhhh!!!" it was pretty funny. :). Then we'd get to a door that required the Fire guy, and I'd just killed him (or he was "resting" ). My fave figure is definitely the little cackling Tech/Gear dude with the double fisted gun action. That guys a riot.

Well, a fruitless trip to TRU, KMart, GameStop, and a local Video Game store, turned up no Skylanders. So we went to the Ghetto KMart and they had even less selection. Until we went to the Toy Dept and somebody had put a random case of 3packs on the pegs. So we got a Leaf figure along with two more. Now just need Air.
