The thrill of the hunt has always been there. I was as happy finding Princess Leia back in the day as I was finding the Hoth Wave a couple of months ago. That's what keeps me going, even more than the figures themselves.
What it really boils down to is this: IF you choose to buy the figure, you're choosing to "vote for its acceptability". What I mean is this: Hasbro can pump out Commtech Han after Commtech Han.... because people WILL still buy them. The only way to truly try and effect change is to only buy products that are acceptable to you. Problem is, for completists (like me, sadly) a piece of shit stained toilet paper inside a basic SW figure package gets my $10.
I wish I could shake it, but I can't. Just because I bitch about a particular figure (or an aspect there of) doesn't mean I don't still get a wee kick out of it. By and enlarge, there's some redeeming quality to every figure - even if it's only nostalgia.

This was in the Q&A at GH and thought it was pretty funny
When I get this one, the helmet won't be coming off.I saw much complaining about the Death Star Gunner's removable helmet around the web after we got to announce it here. Wow. Some people must really have awesome lives. Me, I've got other things to worry about so I guess I must've been blind to what a horrible thing Hasbro did by adding extra play value, detail, and accessories to a figure which could've just been a straight repack of a sculpt from 1996. I truly must work on my priorities.

Funny yes but it's only because he's no doubts one of the fanboys that wanted it and also one of them that just HAS to have EVERYTHING SA.I saw much complaining about the Death Star Gunner's removable helmet around the web after we got to announce it here. When it comes to Star Wars figures, it seems that you can't please anyone at any time.
Slick - I feel your pain, man. If the bitching is your pet peeve (oh, and I'm guessing it is
), you must be one frustrated white boy.
I love the gunner, by the way - just to combat some of the griping.

That's the exact same reason I'm even wasting my time with it.Rogue II wrote:The only reason I read some of that crap is because I'm a little bored at work. I tried to help Chux get the whole thread off topic with the GI Joe thing.
That place is getting pathetic. And has anyone else noticed that Tycho is even further off his rocker than normal?

Yes, but I didn't want to start bitching about him again. I like how he blames the drop in Hasbro's stock on the Custom Choppers, figure case assortments, and lack of SW playsets.CaptainSolo1138 wrote:That's the exact same reason I'm even wasting my time with it.Rogue II wrote:The only reason I read some of that crap is because I'm a little bored at work. I think were it related to his medical condition, it'd be more like: "asfdleeip fdj pjire fdd fd", not well formulated hypotheses on Hasbro's floundering stocks. I can't even bring myself to read his posts.vynsane wrote:yeah, but i'm not sure whether it's related to his medical problems... didn't he have a brain hemmorage or something?
I do, however, look forward to the snarkiness that, for some reason, always seems to come from the denizens of this place. That G.I. Joe shit is killin' me.
