I nearly gave this post it's own thread for a certain someone with a near pedaphilic young teenage asian mutant fetish...but fuck it. This is as good a place as any.
Jubilee will be back in Wolverine Origins second story arc.
Jubilee will be back in Wolverine Origins second story arc.
http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/ ... ielway.htmCHARLOTTE, N.C. Daniel Way isn't being coy. When he talks about the second arc of Marvel Comics' Wolverine: Origins, he just can't say too much right now.
"The fifth issue of Origins (the finale of the 'Born in Blood' arc) has a major showstopper revelation," he explained last weekend at Heroes Con. "So the next five issues will be Wolverine's first attempt to deal with that."
Way did confirm -- as shown in the released cover to #6 -- that Omega Red is in the five-issue "Savior" story arc. He also said that Jubilee will be featured.
Since M Day, the de-powered Jubliee has been working as a social worker of sorts, helping ex-mutants who are fearful.
"She's an extremely important person in the Wolverine mythos," Way said "She's kid of like a daughter, but at the same time she's also a friend."
Also in future issues, Way said that Team X will be featured, looking at the likes of Sabretooth and Maverick during the Cold War, as he continues Wolverine's journey of discovery.
Wolverine: Origins has been a hot-seller, with second printings and a Director's Cut of the first issue.
"I'm really happy with the book, but the pressure's up there now," Way said. "Everything seems to be working out in terms of feeling comfortable with the book and not doing any second-guessing."
Part of that comfort is working with artist Steve Dillon, with whom Way previously collaborated on Punisher vs. Bullseye and the Nighthawk mini-series. Way said it's reached the point where, while he's writing pages, he can envision how Dillon will draw them.
"Steve can pull off the little things and the great big things," Way said.
Way, who is also writing Marvel's new Ghost Rider series, has done extensive research for Wolverine: Origins. He has plans for five years and 60 issues.
"There's so much, there are so may stories," Way said. "I hope to revisit and in some cases resolve many things about his past."
"As they say in China, 'Arrivederci'!"

Chux, not that you're a knob or anything - but you're making the decision a knob would make by choosing not to read this book.
Reconsider - please - while you still have the option of picking up the first couple of issues for less than $10 total.... it's rocking, and it's only gonna get better. Daniel Way is AWESOME!!!
You don't even have to admit to us you're reading it.... just give us a little nudge nudge, wink wink or something to let us know you're on board.

If you're all insisting I read it, I can probably get the copies from the local comic shop. (Design a webpage for the store owner, and suddenly it's easier to fill out the holes in your collection.
) It's just the one book, right? I don't have to get any more of this Civil War schlock, do I?
Still, the idea of Wolverine remembering much of anything, much less everything, still sends shivers down my spine. I can't expect another Sleepwalker here, or I'll be depressed if I buy the whole series and it's only a Morbius (last few issues when they were trying desperately to save it with the cool horror angle, but it was way too late).
And with every comic book reference I make, I date myself.

That's why you NEED to read it. Steve Dillon, though by no means the best artist in comics today, can draw cold-blooded murderous rage like NO ONE else - and the writer is a psychopath. Period.
There have been 3 issues so far, all worth reading - but it's where this books is going to take us over the next 57 issues that has me all hot and bothered.

Eddie (the store owner) told me #3 was where it really starts heating up.
Before I read, is there any cockamamie Secret House of Age of the Civil Fall of the Onslaught on Infinite Identity Earths bullshit lead-in I should be aware of?

Dude, the mind fucker that is Wolverine in those flashbacks. Holy shit. What an asshole. The level of depravity that he descends to to get Nuke to be such a badass was....wow. Killing the fucking babysitter? What the fuck?

What's new in the X-Universe?
Astonishing. Another excellent story. Emma...good? bad? Confused? The next one is gonna blow your socks off. Whedon. Cassaday. Outer Space. It's looking like the next Phoenix Saga. Wheeee!
New X-men. Holy crap! is the second best X-Book out there? It just may be...
Uncanny. Bru is writing a wicked story, but its too slow in the buildup. And Tan's pencils aren't all that OR a bag of cheetos. And already with the fill in artist. Oye.
X-Men. So...not a big fan of Bachalo. And his muddled artwork makes it hard to focus on all these new characters and therefore care about any of them.
Phoenix:Warsong. Oh. Hey. Lets go back and keep raping Morrison's run and mining all the interesting concepts and characters until they are trashed like the rest of this franchise is right now. Plus it's an excuse to use the Whedon/Cassaday team without Whedon and Cassaday. Cheers!
Wolverine. Arc after arc of good stories. Not a fan of Humerto Ramos, but enjoyed his work on the Civil War arc. And Jeph Loeb is coming up! Exciting.
Wolverine: Origins. A strong second arc begins. And Daniel Way has done meticulous research and it shows. As cool as this book is, its gets cooler the longer you've been a Marvel reader.
X-Factor. I don't read it. probably should, but I don't.
Am I missing anything? Cable/Deadpool needs to be cancelled and those characters folded back into the other books.

The latest issue of X-men came out Wednesday and the scene of Rogue telling Scott that this was the team she chose so deal with it was just awesome.
The full page shot of her new team ( five issues in the making) made Mutant books old school cool for just a moment. Rogue, Cable, Cannonball, Iceman, Mystique, Sabretooth, Lady Mastermind, and Omega Sentinel. Very cool.
