Pure magic. I've had to watch a couple of times since the first time because I was losing it emotionally. I was still convinced it was Ezra right up until they focused on the black gloved right hand & you could tell the saber hilt was Lukes. All the feels & then some.

I've seen complaints about the CG, but I thought it was great.
While it still felt a little obvious, it was a definite improvement over Tarkin in Rogue One.

Luke watched on as a Father took his Helmet off and showed his face to his Son.

The scene where the Mandolorian was trying to get the Child to swap the wires made me realize that they probably got the idea for The Child from Baby Groot.

damn, man, yeah... that was a great payoff. have to wonder if the hype around the series will die down, though, if Grogu isn't part of it going forward. obviously he's the main attraction for the less-hardcore fans.

i thought the CG was much better than Rogue One, honestly.

I'm hoping the spoiler ban is lifted... but if not and you haven't seen it, stop scrolling, spoiler video ahead.

I don't have a problem with the CG, but here it is side by side with a deepfake, and I've gotta say, the deepfake does look better.

“The Mandalorian” dropped a bombshell announcement on fans with its Season 2 finale, revealing in the closing moments that the show is getting a third spinoff, titled “The Book of Boba Fett.”

As that series had not been included in the long list of announcements Disney made at its Dec. 10 Investor Day, some “Star Wars” fans have been looking for clarification on the order in which we’ll be getting “The Mandalorian” Season 3 and its new spinoff show, “The Book of Boba Fett.”

Don’t worry, series creator Jon Favreau, who created “The Mandalorian” and its spinoffs, is here to explain it all.

“At the end of [‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2], Boba Fett came out and it said, ‘The Book of Boba Fett, Coming December of 2021.’ And that wasn’t part of the big Disney announcement, but here’s the logo,” Favreau said while appearing on “Good Morning America” Monday. “We wanted to hold this back because we didn’t want to spoil the surprise during the big Disney announcement of all the shows when Kathleen Kennedy was up there. And so they let me keep this one a secret.”

The two “Mandalorian” spinoff series that were announced at Disney Investor Day 2020 included “Rangers of the New Republic” and “Ahsoka,” led by Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano. Set within the timeline of “The Mandalorian,” “The Book of Boba Fett” stars Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand. The series is executive produced by Favreau, Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez.

“So this is actually separate from ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3,” Favreau continued. “But what we didn’t say in that announcement is that the next show coming up, Kathy said the ‘next chapter,’ and that’s going to be ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ and then we go into production right after that on Season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian,’ back with the main character that we all have known and loved. So that’s going to be pretty soon following that. So were working on that pre-production now, while we’re in production on ‘Boba Fett.'”

Both “The Book of Boba Fett” and “The Mandalorian” Season 3 are expected to premiere December 2021 on Disney+.

Sounds like Book will only be a short season if they're both debuting a year from now (assuming there's no overlap - it says book will roll right into Mando s3, release-wise).

Somebody on the internet was calling him Boba Fatt and asked if the Book of Boba Fett was going to be a cookbook.

That's funnier than it should be.

Book of Boba Fett is an interesting turn. I guess I kinda figured Boba & Fennic had "come to the light" in rescuing Grogu & would Join Mando as part of the team moving into the next season. I'm honestly quite happy with him going back to what he knows - the bounty hunting and/or criminal empire game.

Regarding CG vs Deepfake - I think RB is right, the deepfake looks better. But what the fuck is the difference? I need to learn something today & that might as well be it.

Give the guy a break. It's hard to work out when you're stuck in the Sarlaac.

My GF asked how he survived the Sarlacc, and we surmised it was because he went into the mouth fully armed.

But I was wondering if we will get to see his escape in a flashback.

Someone else suggested that the barge explosion killed the sarlacc, allowing him to get out. I don't hate that explanation.

That's (so far) the official explanation.
