Not enough to get me excited, but nothing to make me say ‘uhhhgh’ either. It looks like the jumped up TV series that it is, and not a grand cinematic experience.
But I guess I trust Filoni and Favreau enough to give them the benefit. Is this a one and done, or are they planning multiple films?

Apparently, there's one more movie and at least one more season of Ahsoka. Possibly more, but that's all that's confirmed. Supposedly, the unnamed Filoni movie will be the climax of all these shows and movies set in the 5-7(+?) years after ROTJ range, and he's said he's putting as many existing characters as possible in it. Given Thrawn has returned, a lot of people expect it to be a sort of canon re-imagining of the HTTE trilogy.

Guilty as charged. I posted that in this thread in April 2023 and September 2022.
And I still think Thrawn looks like a blue Elon Musk.

Star Wars is being re-released in theaters for the 50th anniversary. It comes out Feb 19, 2027. They say it is a newly restored version of the 1977 theatrical release. I'm excited, and I'd wager Newsbot is, too.

Mando & Grogu trailer dropped (to appease the "fans" who were bitching about the funny superb owl commercial)

Complete with Martin Scorsese as a space monkey.

Shadow Lord dropped today.
Even if you hate the story (which was a solid hard-boiled crime drama, a first for SW onscreen), the animation is absolutely fucking gorgeous.
Also today marks the 30th anniversary of SOTE (at least the novel and CD parts). That soundtrack still kicks all the ass. I want Xizor on the big screen just to hear that bitching theme music in a theater.

When in the timeline is Maul set?
Re: How I realized I was over Star Wars completely
The story begins shortly after the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, which takes place a year earlier in 19 BBY.

Star Wars Insider 237 comes out next week. It’s the Final Issue.
I haven’t purchased an issue since its prequel heydays, but it is still a little wistful to hear it’s coming to an end. Print is dying by inches.

Jesus fucking Christ, that Maul finale.
We expected it. Marrok telegraphs what's coming. And it still left me with the biggest shit-eating grin since the first person who ever ate shit and grinned, likely because he was a fucking psycho.
I still say reviving Maul and giving Anakin a Padawan were the two dumbest decisions in the history of Star Wars, but, fuck, if they didn't turn those turds into absolute gold.

I've wanted to start watching Maul, but have been putting it off. I'll try this weekend.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is definitely a winner.
I won't spoil anything beyond saying I love Rotta the Hutt more than I ever thought possible.

Just got home from Mando+Grogu. It felt like two episodes of the show. Not in a terrible way. I actually liked that you needn’t have seen a single episode of Mandalorian to enjoy the movie. The relationship between the two is laid out in the opening text, and that’s as much as you need. None of the Darksaber or Mandalore or Clan history.
I dug the obscure Easter eggs like the Kenner INT-4 and giving Doug Chaing a long overdue cameo. I also appreciated the two stunt performers getting near top billing in the credits.
I laughed at how much Shaktari was just Los Angeles from Blade Runner. And also that the guy playing Jonnu Coyne is named Jonny Coyne.
The trivia on IMDB is almost exclusively everyone mentioning the obvious dejarik game Easter egg. It’s pretty cool to see, but it’s gonna become the new version of ‘did you know Aragorn broke his toe when he kicked that helmet…’
I feel like the Bounty Hunter guy with the shield on his head is from some other media?
Overall, it was enjoyable, but if you wait and just watch it on D+ I don’t think you’re missing too much.
