Deadpool 2 is really good, but not as funny as the first. I remember missing a lot of jokes in DP1 because everyone was still laughing at the previous joke. But I did love all the comic book/movie related jokes.
No spoilers yet, but a few general thoughts.
I kinda love the way X-Force was handled.
Peter wasn't as overused as I thought he would be.
The mid-credit montage was a lot of fun, although it brings up questions about the whole movie and what comes next, since it is considered canon.
The "secret" villain was totally redeemed.

Losing Tim Miller as the director definitely lost some of the quirk humor from the first film, but there were still some extremely hilarious moments in there. But in the first movie they seemed to come more effortlessly and here it seemed like they were trying just a bit too hard to live up to the first one.
But in no way was it not a great film.
I had the stinger spoiled for me online, which in turn spoiled the beginning and middle of the film. But apart from that I loved it.
Will speak more of the spoiler-y bits after more of y’all have seen it.
One minor spoiler bit. During the redneck scene I was like “Is that Alan Tudyk? It looks kinda like Alan Tudyk.” And completely missed the fact the other guy was Matt Damon.

I was already confused by the X-Men timeline, now they are repeating themselves?

It looks way too similar. I have to wonder if they'll just disregard hotter, older Jean completely or try to ratify it somehow. My money is on option 1.
At the end, it says that Disney was probably going to redo the X-Men anyway.

After the Disney/Fox merger and the prospect of getting “true and proper” X-Men in the MCU, did people just collectively decide this “unofficial” Beta version of the X-Men film franchise was no longer worthy?
I know the marketing and word of mouth and quality of the actual movie are all factors, but it felt like this movie was in a hole from the beginning. Dead man walking.
I’ll probably go see it next weekend. Have the theater to myself by then.

Me too. Next saturday right after I drop my car off for servicing in the same shopping mall. Easy way to burn 2 carless hours.
