How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

not to defend any retconning, but if they are the same species, it doesn't necessarily mean they're from the same planet, or that they share the same practices or beliefs. it's actually more realistic than most planets of hats for two individuals of the same species to have different cultures.

So the new Insider is out and spoils the fuck out of the Savage Opress trilogy of episodes, and what a snigtarded fan wanking turn of events it is.

Spoilers ahead...

Sidious gets pissed because Ventress is getting too knowledgeable in the dark side, so he orders Dooku to kill her, which he botches and she runs to Dathomir for help from the Nightsisters.
A plan is set in place and Dooku is supplied with his new apprentice (by the same Nightsisters, I'm assuming), Savage Opress, but he is secretly loyal to Ventress and the Nightsisters. And apparently on Dathomir the men (who all look like Opress and Maul) are subservient to the women (who look like Ventress).
Opress is then magically mutated by the Nightsisters to be bigger and more ferocious. And Dooku zaps him with Force lighting, which gives Opress Force powers and lightsaber skills (Wait, what?).
Anakin and Obi-Wan stop Opress from killing the Toydarian king. Dooku gets pissed and fights Opress and Ventress joins in. Ventress and Opress escape and are sent by the Nightsisters to the Outer Rim to see a man who will finish Opress' training: Opress' brother...Darth mother fucking Maul.

Wow. Just wow.

Dooku tries to kill Ventress? Wow, that's going to be tough to reconcile with the excellent Obsession comic. Tough as in completely impossible. Dooku's betrayal of her and her reaction in that miniseries was one of the best points in EU history.

They've been shitting all over any established EU whenever they feel like it.

Despite 99% of EU being horrid, this is kind of a dick move by Lucasfilm, especially to those that have created, read and followed so damn much over the years.

I haven't read the last several posts very closely due to spoilers, and that's not likely to change until next month. Though from skimming and other sources, I get the notion that Darth Maul is still alive. The fuck? That seems a little bit too much on the comic book side of things. I would have preferred that he stayed dead (or actually died at all) but hopefully they handle it well.

In short, I won't really respond until after I see the episodes (though clearly you've all made up your minds already).

Twice that I know of, and both were out of continuity.
Once was that dumbass robotic lower-half version that Obi-Wan and Owen fought in the one-shot comic Visionaries.
Then there was a time in Star Wars Tales comic where the Sith brought him back to face Vader.

Both times sucked.

Not that there's anything wrong with that (though even that statement sounds cliche by this point). The poster seemed a bit offended that he never had a girlfriend, or something, as best I can figure, though if he's gay, why would he want to?
