The Greatest Adventure of all time...

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

It looks fun. Some of the scenes with the cars against the fake background looked a little shittily done, but the whole video had a weird motion thing to it. I'll admit that I got chills when the music started up.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

I think it looks promising. This could very much turn out to be like "Live Free or Die Hard"...not as fun as the originals, but still a hell of a ride.

(But come on, 'Nark, you've gotta admit you got goosebumps hearing the theme again)

Unlike the guys who direct the movies he scores, Williams improves with age.

I'm really looking forward to hearing his new take on the Indy themes. Star Wars got better with each movie (and it was perfect to begin with), and so did Harry Potter (up through #3, when he left).

I hope the old soundtracks are re-released in honor of Indy 4. I've got #3 and a copy of #1, but #2 is pretty much impossible to find.

He did stumble a bit with "Attack of the Clones". And by stumble I mean create a great main piece for the movie (Across the Stars), but surround it with reused music from "The Phantom Menace" and getting a bit lazy. But then again, I guess everyone was a little lazy when it came to "Attack of the Clones".

Just watched the trailer on Yahoo. Did the guy from Die Hard make the this? I wasn't excited about the movie before I watched it and I can't say I'm excited about it now. I'll wait for the DVD or HBO. Hell, I still haven't bought the first 3 movies yet.

I thought Williams really dropped the ball with the PT. Episode I was really good, but not nearly as good as anything in the OT. Episode II was a mixed bag and Episode III sounded phoned-in, or at the very least, a greatest hits medley.

Really?

The choral stuff in ROTS didn't floor you? Wow.

I know AOTC wasn't his best work. It was a very busy year for him, and he didn't put as much into it as he could've. Still, the soundtrack should've had the Yoda duel theme.

Ford and Speilberg resisted Lucas' Crystal Skull Idea

Code: Select all

HARRISON FORD and STEVEN SPIELBERG initially dismissed GEORGE LUCAS' idea to base the new INDIANA JONES movie around a mythical crystal skull.

The actor, along with director Spielberg, were looking for ideas for a fourth movie featuring the legendary character, and turned down several script possibilities, including one that saw the Dr Henry 'Indiana' Jones Jr. hunting for the Lost City of Atlantis. And when producer Lucas suggested a script focusing on the crystal skull - a quartz cranium believed to hold supernatural powers - both his colleagues laughed off the idea.

Ford admits it became a struggle between the three men as they resisted Lucas' idea - but they eventually gave in, conceding that the Star Wars filmmaker was "always right".

He tells British magazine Empire, "I think that's fair to say (that we were resistant). The mysterio-crypto elements are not really my bag. I like the relationship elements, the adventure elements.

"George feels that the 'ooh-ey, ooh-ey, ooh-ey' stuff is a strong string in our bow. I admit he's right. He's always right. More or less. We're all stubborn. All three of us."

Speilberg added "It's the fuckin' dumbest idea I've ever heard of, but I saw I was going to make about a billion dollars on it, because audiences are chimps, and I was like 'fuck it, lets make a movie. Cha-ching!' " He then whipped out his checkbook and bought Canada.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is released in cinemas in May (08).
Putting the broad back into broadcasting.

I was actually getting interested in this, but a toy pic that is a major spoiler turned me off again.

It's something that fits into the Indiana Jones world as well as robot assassins would fit in Citizen Kane, or skateboarding ninjas in Casablanca.
