Titan AE was nicely rendered, but that's literally all it had going for it. Janeane Garofalo as a Chewbacca-like kangaroo is probably the single worst example of casting ever.

It came out last year, IIRC. They hyped up the fact that Casper Van Dien (?) was back.

I don't know. Ice-T's role in Tank Girl was pretty horrendous...

well, whatever may be "this generation's star wars", i'm willing to bet this new star trek is more like this generation's star trek.

Star Trek Into Darkness

is the title of the ST sequel due out next summer. Fanboys are already in a tizzy because there's no colon between Trek and Into. Star Trek fans are like Star Wars fans; they will bitch about Everything...

Also, how hilarious is it that Star Trek and Superman both moved from Christmas 2012 release dates to Summer 2013 because they didn't want to compete with The Hobbit(and each other) and now theres gonna be a third Hobbit film in Summer 2013. Ha ha!

The third Hobbit film is coming in Summer 2014, ya fuck.

An Unexpected Journey - late 2012
The Desolation of Smaug - late 2013
There and Back Again - summer 2014

So Superman and those Star Trek cocklickers will be quite safe from any Hobbitses, precious.

There are bound to be stylistic similarities. It's inevitable & and that I won't be able to abide. The fact I won't have seen either of the new Star Treks by the time I see SW7 has no bearing on this post.

The uniforms in the new film are considerably more enjoyable.

Speaking of Star Trek, here's a fun trivia question!

What popular TV series started out as a popular TV series, then spun off into a long series of feature films, then after several revival TV series in the 90s, finally got a successful reboot a couple years ago with a follow up film on the way?

You're right! It was The Muppets!!!

I'm hearing nothing but bad about this one so far. Well, except for people who judge movies on the amount of explosions and Aerosmith power ballads.
