How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

Looks like you only get the actual extra stuff in the SW blu-rays if you buy the $140 set with all six movies.

Fuck. That.

I love Star Wars (despite what JJL may think :)), but $140 for six movies, two of which I couldn't care less about getting better-looking versions of, plus the cost of a player, all for extras? Nah, think I'll pass.

We don't have a Blue Ray yet. But if I did, I wouldn't buy that set because I would never watch the prequels.

I'm excited for the Blurays, yes we're getting the 9 disc set and I'm looking forward to it. :D

Daniel Logan, I highly doubt he's gay...I've seen him at several cons over the years and he seems like a real pussy-hound. Fine if he is gay but I doubt it.

Clone Wars with Maul - yeah, now THAT sounds "gay"

Dammit, you made me dig, Slea. I think someone is a bit mistaken. I find no evidence, and he seems to be either straight or well-closeted.

Looks a bit different now than he did, too. I guess that makes sense; it is almost nine years later.

I'm looking forward to the Saga Box set, mostly for the extras. There's so much I hoping is on there, and with 30 hours of stuff I'm figuring there's a good chance it all won't be previously seen stuff from the DVDs (but it would be cool to have those PT and OT docs on there, especially The Beginning and Empire of Dreams).

The only movie I'm curious about is Episode I to see if they replaced the craptastic Yoda muppet with a digital one.

But honestly, if I didn't have my PS3 I wouldn't give much of a crap about the box set.

Agreed on both counts.

The HD picture quality should be great, though. The 2001 TPM DVD in particular was transferred from a subpar source, or something (I think it was originally done to match the picture quality of the OT), so watching the prequels recently on a nice TV it was obvious how much better AOTC and ROTS looked in comparison. Having all six look even better than that should be incredible.

But what really gets my blood boilin' is the special features. At CV, Lucas himself said that behind-the-scenes stuff has been done to death, so I wonder what all will be here (and I agree that most behind-the-scenes aspects have been pretty damn well covered by this point). I'm mostly excited for the deleted scenes. Hopefully they have PT stuff not seen on the DVDs as well, as I'd really love to see the Ki-Adi-Mundi droid control ship scene from AOTC. The Making of ESB book has some crazy photos of the wampa attack on Echo Base, so hopefully that'll be on there as well.

And as has been pointed out on Facebook and other places, the list price of DVDs and Blu-rays is always a hell of a lot higher than the actual price usually ends up being; case in point, Amazon has the nine-disc set for $90, and I'm sure there will be eventual deals and sales to be found. Players really aren't crazy expensive anymore, and will probably keep going down; I don't have one yet but I'm sure as shit getting one come September.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

I hadn't actually considered the possibility of the Wampa scene. I might be second in line to get this if that's on there. (Only the music-only track could make me first.)

With the C4 debut of a scene nobody knew existed, I don't see any reason why the Wampa stuff won't be on there.

It would also be cool to see some of those old behind-the-scenes/making-of specials they used to air on tv in the 80s.

Guys, I don't want to sound like a Clone Wars apologist...but last night I read the Insider write-up on this whole Savage Oppress debacle and I didn't see anything in there about Maul being alive.

I stand corrected! Honestly I think I skipped that page...maybe my brain wouldn't allow myself to read such absurdity.

sorry about that Diablo.

Man, what a dumb thing to do...shouldn't be surprised though, considering Fett's escape from the Sarlaac. Talk about shitting all over The Phantom Menace, eh???

In the spirit of the title, I realized I was over Star Wars when I went to a little mini-convention this weekend. My daughter went with me (my son didnt want to go) and after awhile she got bored with me poring through the 50cent comic boxes. So I bought her some vintage Star Wars toys. A Dewback, a Tauntaun, X-Wing Luke and R2-D2. I never even had a dewback when I was little. But I honestly don't care if they get broken or eaten by the dog or whatever.

Holy fucking shit, this Darth Maul's Brother miniseries is BAD. I don't even mean it's something I dislike. It is just really and truly bad.
