Football

most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

Moderators: Zero, John Madden, Bob Ross, General Zod, Richard Simmons, Batman

The NFC is a tossup - I'd prefer the Cardinals to win, and then somehow go on to win the superbowl & make up for that crushing loss to the Steelers from a few years ago.
Or it could be the complete opposite. At least no one can suggest I had an inside scoop.

Think about this; NE kicker had a record 523 successful PATs. He hadn't missed a kick since 2006, and this was only the second time he's missed EVER. If he hadn't missed, they wouldn't have had to go for a 2-pt conversion on the final play. They could've just kicked the extra pt, tied up the game, and gone to OT.

Stephen Gostgowski is the GOAT.

And seeing Carolina dominate Arizona, it's plain to see who's going to win the SB. Unless Manning pays someone to kneecap Cam.

Cam Newton is truly terrifying. You would think that there is no way a QB with that sort of running ability could possibly have an accurate cannon like the one he has - you'd be sadly & horribly wrong. His passes are on the money every time & they don't even drop an inch over 30 yards.

What falls to the Denver defence isn't very different from what fell to them yesterday - get through an impenetrable offensive line & disrupt one of the finest QBs on the planet. Wade Phillips is all about QB pressure, so you know they're coming all day long. The only added wrinkle is staying home to defend the run - Von Miller will not get away with rushing willy nilly, Cam will just be gone through his gap like shit through a goose.

I'm just glad it isn't NE vs. Carolina because every sports reporter would be putting out articles on the rematch and Spygate. I'm to the point where I find NFL reporting annoying because it is so over covered. Now it is 2 weeks before the Super Bowl and they have to find something to talk about to fill in their 24 hour/day coverage.

Yeah I'm with you. I find the entirety of sports to be completely over-covered. I can't listen to fan radio for more than hour or watch any highlight shows for more than 30 minutes before I lose my mind. They are scrounging like rats for stories that just don't exist, and then pushing them & selling them like it's "news". Fuck that shit, to put it bluntly.

They're gonna fill that time going over every inch of Manning's career and trumpeting this as his Grand Finale.

It'll be as embarrassing as his defeat two years ago at the hands of the Seahawks.

The only thing Luke Kuechly won't (likely) do is pull down Manning's pants & hump him right on the field. The rest of the indecencies will only be intrusive & vulgar in a football sense, but they'll be just as vicious.

Hahahaha! The most hilarious outcome would be if Manning gets sacked in the first ten minutes and breaks his collarbone. And then Osweiler comes in and steals the victory from Carolina.

Who is Carolina's backup QB? Do they even have one?

I wasn't paying attention to the game, but I saw Carolina put their back-up in. Either that or Cam Newton briefly turned white. Anyway, I just looked it up. The backup is Derek Anderson. I forgot he was still in the league.

Oh yeah. They put him for Garbage Time at the end of the game.

I wonder what kind of stories back up QBs tell their grandkids when they show off their SuperBowl ring.

Ha. The Buffalo Bills 4-time SuperBowl Champs sketch was pretty funny.

Seeing Jim Kelly and them guys looking old makes ME feel old. Poop. :?

We didn't see the US ads which sucks, but I saw Von Miller finish his 2 week Miley Cyrus impression (wrecking ball, right?). That defense is fucking nasty, like one of the best all time nasty.

You didn't miss much. I didn't watch the whole game, but none of the ads I saw were that good. The game itself was rather boring.

PuppyMonkeyBaby.

It was a dull game. And if it ever came out that Carolina was enticed to throw the game, I wouldn't be surprised. There was a lot of pooched plays from a team that was pretty much perfect all year long.
