Football

most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

The only thing that kept me awake was the knowledge that on any play Carolina could have scored & made it close. I kept waiting, absolutely sure they were going to break a big play, but it never happened. Cam Newton was certainly involved in shenanigans at Auburn, I'd have no doubt he & pops would consider a payday like the one you're suggesting, knowing full well he has all the talent he'll ever need to drag the Panthers back to the Superbowl as many times as he wants over the next few years (barring catastrophic injury of course).

Those guys on that one team sure did play so as to get more points than the other team did with the same ball.

That is a grossly inaccurate depiction of the events. I think you're thinking of NASCAR.

Marshawn Lynch is retiring.
Calvin Johnson is thinking about retiring. That'll set them back another several years in their quest for a ring.

Megatron is retiring after nine seasons. It sucks they couldn't get their shit together and get him a Ring.
He'll be one of the all time greats.

I just....why does one waste a draft selection on...a Long Snapper?

That guy would've been available after the draft. Right? Am I being obtuse?

The Bears moved up & grabbed a linebacker - then they promptly ruined any chances that may have had at improving the team by signing Brian Hoyer.

Eh. Hoyer gets a lot of crap, but he's not much better or worse than Cutler. Cutler will get injured before the Bears hit their bye week. And the Bears will struggle without Forte this season.

All of which is good news for Lions fans. And their recently drafted LONG SNAPPER. SMH.

It was only a 6th round pick for the long snapper. A lot of the time those late round picks are either depth or special team players if they make the roster.

I can't complain about the Bills draft. Their 1st pick was projected to go in the top 15 and they got him at 19. Their 2nd round pick was projected to be a 1st round pick. Both of them will be starters this year. Even their 3rd round pick should see significant playing time. They grabbed Ohio St's QB in the 4th round. They plan on developing him over the next couple years.

Sad, but the part I found most shocking was that there was enough of his brain to donate to research.

Training camps are starting. Then preseason. My main fantasy league drafts in between weeks 3 & 4 of the preseason. I'm picking 8th out of 12 teams. We get to keep 1 player for a draft pick 1 round ahead of where you drafted him. I grabbed Jordy Nelson at the end of the season just for that purpose. He'll cost me a 15th round pick. If he doesn't look good in the preseason, I still could keep Freeman for a 9th. Or, I could probably swap my #8 draft position for one in the top 3 or 4. If I did that, I could keep DeAndre Hopkins for a late 2nd round pick. Decisions, decisions...

I traded up to the #1 spot. That guy is keeping Antonio Brown, so I have my choice of Odell Beckham or Julio Jones. I'm keeping Hopkins, so I'll have a pretty good pair of starting WRs. When I pick in the 3rd round, there should be a decent RB there.

Any enthusiasm I had for the Bills this year is just about gone. Suspensions and injuries are killing them.

I didn't do Fantasy this year.

Nice comeback for the Lions today. I seriously thought we were gonna start the season losing by one point and that's how it was gonna be. Another typical season of almost.
And then the Colts generously added a safety after the win by fucking around in the endzone. Thanks guys!

Hahahahah. Bears suck. Epic turnovers and Cutler's already hurt. And they got beat by rookie goldenboy Carson Wentz. Look for the same thing to happen next week against The other rookie goldenboy Dack Prescott down in Dallas. Except on a much bigger stage because Sunday Night Football.
