yes, quite shortly. the prospective due date is the 15th, but it's definitely possible it could be early - my wife's belly is HUGE! it's an insane optical illusion, because it makes her boobs look small!

i'm actually going to be setting up a blog on my site (i know, i know, i hate them...) because my brother recently moved to buffalo with his fiance and he's pretty upset about not being close for the formative years. i think he'll appreciate a blog of minute detail of every aspect of the kid's life. i'll let everyone else know where the blog resides, if anyone's interested.

I've been meaning to set up a simple webpage for pictures, so I don't have to e-mail the same pics over and over. I'm so behind on so much shiznit. Web pages to design, Christmas stuff to do, stuff to write. And, no, I haven't forgotten there's a good deal of toys that need to go to their proper homes in Canada and Virginia.

Good luck with the birth. I don't know if they told you guys to buy some relaxing music and all that other crap like they told us. My wife ended up buying some of that Celtic music and some lavender candles or something and never used them for the birth of either of our kids. Well, our 2nd kid came out so fast after we got to the hospital, the docs didn't have time to give her any painkillers, let alone put in a CD.

yeah, my brother's fiance grew up on grand island, and she went back to get her master's degree - she's going to be a doctor, so my brother was like "well, you follow the doctor!" but then we found out we were having a baby and he was really upset that he had agreed to move so far away.

we'll definitely be making a trip out there at some point... not sure when...

IT'S A GIRL!

julia margaret was born at 12am this morning by c-section, due to the fact that she is 9lbs. 6oz. and 22" long!

we had been at the L&D ward since 2am the previous morning after my wife's water broke. she wasn't having regular contractions, and there was meconium (baby poops) so they put her on petocin, which makes your labor more intense all-around, and is meant to regulate the contractions. since the labor gets more intense, she ended up conceding to the epidural (which she didn't want to do...) and she really didn't progress at all in 12 hours, only reached about 4cm dilated when the doctor said "we're gonna have to do a section" - basically it all went the opposite way in every possible meaning of the word, but the end result is the most important part, she's good and healthy!

Congrats, Vyn. That's a pretty big baby.
