The possibilities:
Jean Grey: Killing her off is a national pasttime. Plus, the Phoenix Force has been returning, and someone in the Shi'ar Empire made a comment about it being due to the war between humans and mutants. The cause of which is Magneto. Chances: 2 to 1.
Wolverine: Kill their most popular character? Not bloody likely!! Chances: 4,786,229 to 1.
One of the fake Wolvies running around in the other books: This would require Marvel to admit their existence! Chances: 4,786,230 to 1.
Professor X: Another popular character to occasionally kill off, and the one whose death would mean the most. With his impending retirement, Morrison could make him a tragic martyr. But this would be at least the second super-catastrophic thing to happen to him in Morrison's tenure. Chances: 5 to 1.
Cyclops: Kill off the team leader? Could be interesting, and his sacrifice would be very poignant. But I think everyone at Marvel likes old stick-up-his-ass too much. Chances: 8 to 1.
Nightcrawler: Chicks dig the fuzzy dude. Wouldn't be a good idea. Chances: 100 to 1.
Archangel: Kill Death? I just don't see it, especially if he's got healing powers. Chances: 300 to 1.
Beast: I know it was this way for years, but it's impossible for anyone to imagine the X-Men without old Hank. Chances: 500 to 1.
Storm, Gambit, Rogue, Cannonball, Bishop, or Sage: This would require Claremont to relinquish his hold on the, ahem, X-Treme bunch. Ain't gonna happen. Chances: 750 to 1.
White Queen: Villain against villain to the death? Could be interesting, but it's not her style. Chances: 15 to 1.
Juggernaut: Another villain vs villain. This one would be more interesting, and would redeem Caine in a lot of ways. Chances: 10 to 1.
Beak: No. Chances: infinity to 1.
Colossus: Already dead, goddammit. Chances: 9,999,999,999,999 to 1.
Xorn: Maybe an Onslaught dealio going on with split personalities? Or maybe not. Chances: one gogol to 1.
Husk: My choice. Killing her would rid the X-Men of a piece of shit character and reform Archangel. Chances: not as good as I'd like them to be.
Havok: I just don't see it happening. Chances: 1,000,000 to 1.
Jubilee: What? You think Marvel would risk widespread rioting and chaos in the real world as a result of a poor decision in their comics? I hope not! The economy is already in bad enough shape!!

I think we can safely narrow it down to the New X-Men Team, since Morrison wouldn't want to pee in Austen's pool.
So that's Jean, Cyke, Beast, Emma, and Albert. (and the Prof.) I suppose if they wanted to count those upstart mutie wannabe's Beak and Angel, but Beak is in the next storyline.
Albert has too much going on in his own book and every other Marvel Universe book.
Emma is just picking up speed with her own series.
The Prof, while being a good candidate (Magneto vs Chuck to the death?)has too much going on in the other books also ( his ongoing reconciliation with his brother, Juggy. And the New Mutants thing).
Cyke. No particular reason, but he's worth more as the straight man than as the martyr.
That leaves Hank and Jean. And it's fifty/fifty with those two. Hank's ongoing metamorphosis leaves an out if they want to bring him back later(as a worm or something). The same goes for Jean's Phoenix force.
Unless, of course, the future storyline resolves the "death" in the next story arc, then I say the Prof. bites it temporarily.

I've got to disagree with everyone on the Draco. I'm not liking it at all so far, and I'm seriously thinking of dropping the title. I went one issue more on X-Treme than the rest of y'all, and regret it. Horrible! I think Austen's a decent writer, but I don't like the idea that Nightcrawler is a demon or whatever the hell's going on. Completely defeats the "looks like a demon, but is a nice fuzzy dude" irony, IMHO.

Yeah, after that prelude thing, the last issue went nowhere fast. And Tan's artwork swings between awesome and BLEAH! There was a page in there of Havok and Wolverine that looked straight out of Rob Liefeld's junior high sketchbook. I wanted to rip it out of the book.
I hate when writers are afraid to change the status quo of a character permanently. If a writer does do something innovative with a character, the next writer will find a way to invalidate it and cheapen it by returning everything back the way it was.
Archangel is a prime example. But Nightcrawler comes to mind. Becoming a priest was an interesting step for that character, but then it turns out it was all mind control. What the fuck? Or they'll create an interesting love interest for somebody, then that character will just sort of dissappear, until a different writer a few years later will spend a panel or two where the X-Man and his girlfriend will be "So we never see each other. Bye." Remember the black cop Warren was dating? (oh, she was too old, I understand now...)or that Asian girl Bobby was seeing? Interesting characters that WHOOSH dissappear. or Trish Tilby? A great long standing relationship tossed by the wayside, because the writer is too lazy to work at it.

I haven't read the Draco parts II and III yet. This isn't heartening news.... the prologue and part I had me freaking. I dropped a bunch of crap titles to make room for the millions of limited series shit I seem to want to buy lately, so with any luck I'll be able to clean out the backlog this Wednesday and get my fat ass caught up.

Just finished off parts 2 and 3 of the Draco, and Im still down with it. Im just happy they're giving Kurt SOMETHING for a real origin. Azazel still has potential to be a really cool character (hopefully a villain). As I posted at SSG, I think it will be interesting to see Kurt trying to deal with the realization he actually IS "Demonic", something he's spent his whole life trying not to be - or at least not to be seen as.
