Tomb Raider

I went to this yesterday with a friend. She asked if I needed to see the first one to know what was going on. I told her I don't think so but I don't know since I never saw the first one. I vaguely remember seeing parts of it, but I don't remember the circumstances...

So we start watching the second one and I begin dozing off throughout the film. I'll miss five mintues here and ten minutes there. And then it occurs to me that the exact same thing happened during the first Tomb Raider movie. I went to it and dozed off throughout the movie. Which is why I don't remember ever seeing it.

So now I have to make this officially the lamest franchise ever because BOTH movies have put me to sleep. Now THAT's is hardcore suckdom, if you can bore me to tears so much that I fall asleep twice. Tomb Raider, you officially suck...

Well, there's been differences of opinion before. Some would say Tomb Raider eats, while others would say it bites. Still others might think it blows.

But now, here, officially, it sucks.

Hmm. I couldn't watch the first one, so I figured this would be more of the same. And you've confirmed it!

Does this movie retroactively get a tad cooler now that Daniel "007" Craig is in it? I sincerely doubt it, but it's something to think about. I would rather buy these two movies out of the cheap bin at Wal-Mart than watch Mac & Me...ever.

No, once a movie officialy sucks, there is no making it better.

Sad. The game is awesome, as are its sequels.

I guess there can be no good game-based movies aside from the first Mortal Kombat, which was a lot of fun.

I remember seeing the trailer for Mortal Kombat and immediately wanting to rip someones head and spine out of their body for a FATALITY. I was pumped.

I thought the first Resident Evil movie was good even though it strayed a tad from the game.

Street Fighter was pitiful. Double Dragon was doubly pitiful. Mario Bros. has reached "Plan Nine" levels of camp awfulness. It's so bad, its good.

Wing Commander might be king of the turkeys though.

Final Fantasy was okay, but forgettable, not really having much to do with the video game. And the end was just "Akira" level weird.

I never saw Doom or Silent Hill.

Missing anything else? I don't consider animated movies as Video Game films, and House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, and Bloodrayne were made for $17.50 total so they don't even get considered either. Uwe Boll is king of the shmucks.

In retrospect, looking at the list of video game movies, I would put Tomb Raider near the top. Does that make them worth rewatching? Only if I pass by them on cable and I have nothing better to do.

Silent Hill is a good movie. I like it alot. It does stray a bit from the game in some areas, but overall it sticks to the stories. Never saw Doom. Saw the 2nd Resident Evil which was crap as was Tomb Raider and even Mortal Kombat
