Is Limewire totally fucked, or is it just me?

computers are cool - they are the reason you are here right now! Hopefully, JJReason can build one and prove once and for all, Canadians are somewhat intelligent.

Not sure what's going on over there, but I wasn't having any luck at all so I updated my version..... and it's still not working very well (my bars in the bottom left corner are always all red, and I never seem to find anything with my searches). I know I amended my firewall to allow that program to work.... what the fuck?

I've been having problems too. If I wait long enough my bars fill up but there hasn't been jack shit when I search. I used to get tons of hits and now I'm lucky if I get 10 different ones.

Worked perfect yesterday, giving it a shot now and it is working fine. Full bars, tons of finds. Maybe it knows Canada sucks. As for Slicker, well, fuck him too.

Slicker was deemed (maybe unbeknownst to him) an Honourary Canadian as soon as he joined the military. We're going to use him to elicit some top secret shit at some point, but we're not sure what yet. That's why his limewire's fucked.

Sorry, Slick, but I figured you'd prefer not to know. :(

There is one Navy uniform that looks similar to the Canadian forces uniform. They even use similar enlisted rank insignias. Slick could change sides and wouldn't have to worry about much of a learning curve.

You should consider it, Slicker just because the Canadians don't have their name on the back of their pants.

I think I'm overqualified for the Canadian Navy. I've actually seen a ship larger than a pleasure boat...

Eh, just friendly ribbing.

BTW, I was on Limewire today and still not much for results. I may redownload it later tonight.

Well I think I know what's wrong with mine, but can't seem to fix it.

I installed a router over Christmas so that the old lady could have internet upstairs - and it's been shit ever since.

So I tried to modify the router firewall settings, but it's saying my IP address is not compatible with the router IP address - must be from the same "subnet".

Since I don't know what that means, all I can offer is the IP for my router which is 192.168.0.1, and hope that maybe Vyn can tell me how to figure out what IP address I should use to id my computer (which when I check seems to be 74.109.221.44 - and KH advised me that was correct).

Any thoughts?

I think I may have figured it out. I couldn't get SHIT for downloads and when I did it would run slow.

What I did was simply uninstall it and reinstall it and now I'm getting the normal amount of downloads and such. Maybe something got into it and corrupted it.

EDIT: I just started downloading my first video file and the reinstall and it's literally going the fastest I've ever had a file download off Limewire, video or not. I briefly hit 800kbps and it's leveled out at 650 or so.

You know what, Slick? I did the same thing out of desperation - sure I knew what the problem was - and your way fixed it. I'm as clumsy as I am stupid.... but I'm also happy the free music and porn's back!!!! :D

I'll restate the opening question: Is it fucked or is it just me?

I've tried searching for the most obvious things (i.e. "Beatles", "Rush") and have had 0 returns. Would it help if I uninstalled it and reinstalled a newer version or has LimeWire went the way of WinMX?

I used Limewire a few days ago and it was OK, sometimes updating to a newer version will help it out. I havent heard it going WinMX style yet.
