USB Question

This may be computer retardation speaking but...

Besides speed, is there any major difference between a regular USB port and a 2.0 port (if that makes any sense)?

I found a great price on a 8G flash drive that uses USB 2.0, which I don't have (I'm assuming because every time I plug my mp3 player in I get a "this device can perform faster if you connect it to a USB 2.0 port" prompt).

there is basically no difference save for the speed question. however, with an 8gb flash drive, you may really WANT that speed. you can easily expand the capability of your computer to accept USB 2.0 throughput by adding a controller card:

there are some as cheap as $8 which will supply you with 4 USB2 ports.

Thanks. I figured it probably wasn't a problem.
I'm only looking to get one so I don't have to burn so much to a cd, where I can't do much with it without transferring it back to the pc.
The photoshop stuff alone takes up so much damn memory.

I'll look into upgrading the USB stuff pretty soon since its cheap enough.
