Watch it and love it. The more final version is coming later in the month, but after aspect ratio and copyright issues, and having to continually play hot potato with the video, we decided to just put it up as is. Later it will have better colors and hopefully sound, but this is the first YouTube version. Er, just watch it.

and now the more profane review haha

Yeah man that is a fuckin SWEET mix of TOTALLY IDIOTIC and lovingly crafted. My fave overall aspect is the way you got exactly the right number of "partial scenes" to make the pacing really tight, not too fast, not too slow. The tone is spot-on, and the performances are all solid- I also like how it manages to hardly even try to explain what exactly the film is about, in proper trailer fashion- it makes some omplied "promises" yet it's hard to see exactly what would hold it all together-

I take my hat off to you and your crew Sir- and I must say it has inspired me in an as yet unspecific direction

I had a funny idea for a sequel trailer, something like VINCE: Offer refused!! where there'd be some strike in Germany and ShamWOW would halt makin infomercials temporarily, then Mays comes and saves the dejected Vince by suggesting he help pitch that not-shamWOW thing- catch is, he has to use Mays' schtick, and it's just too much for him

Which song replaced "Solsbury Hill"? I'm guessing "Walking on Sunshine."

Nice use of the extended version of "I Want to Break Free," by the by.

Thanks to all!

For those quotes, I wanted the most ridiculous, meaningless words possible - just how is any movie "gripping," I ask? - and attributed them to actual crappy critics who have used those words recently. "Wow," of course, had to be the final one.

Haha, thanks! We didn't go into much of Vince's background, and didn't even mention that the VHS is There's Something About Mary, since we figured the audience should be well-versed in Vinceology by this point to connect the dots. Er, maybe not.

After filming, we kept thinking of funny shit to put in there. There's a very, very slim chance we'll do another trailer (but I doubt it, at least not for a while). We wrote some more backstory - one thing explains why the same guy who's standing next to Vince looking at the car is later at the flea market and then getting punched. The real answer is that he was the most available out of the "actors," but the in-universe answer is that he stole the ShamWow plans and sold them to Billy Mays, who turned them into Zorbeez, or something - just something ridiculous to tie into the theme of betrayal and whatnot.

Actually, Walking on Sunshine was there in the beginning. I Want to Break Free was the one that replaced Solsbury Hill. I think both work fine; we'll probably eventually upload both versions. We picked those original songs due to their overuse in trailers. The Queen song isn't as big of an offender, but Queen does have a seeming inability to turn down an offer (zing) to use their song, so it works in that way, too.

Billy Mays ripped off the ShamWow for Zorbees? Now I understand the warning about ShamWow imitators.

Oh I got the "something about mary" shit for sure, but as to what EXACTLY was happening when Vince "goes down" seemed to have been left open for LIBERAL interpretation- was it aliens killing him on behalf of the Farrelys?? The government with a "pain ray"- I ASSUMED it was just an over the top IDIOTIC way to symbolize/portray the loss of intellectual property.. I dunno it still totally kills me to watch it :mabs:

Correct. I actually don't know what a stroke looks like, and there usually seems to be some random medical problem suffered by the character sometime in a biopic that always ends up looking like a heart attack. See: Stand and Deliver, off the top of my head.

Oh, and I don't know if the ShamWow came before the Zorbeez or what, but the similarity is striking, to say the least.

That had to be blocked so you couldn't see Adam's weiner. (Different Adam.)

Double post, you cockfuckers!!! Here is the HD version! Be sure to click the "watch in HD" link right under the video. It looks a lot better and includes the finished effects shots of Vince on the ShamWow! set (which was just my kitchen in the old one).
