Just got my house!

I just got a call from Mrs Anarky, and the keys to our new house are ready! We weren't expecting all the escrow and whatever to finalize until Monday of next week!

I'm on my way to the new place right now!

that's awesome... the little lady and i will be looking for a house over the next year. just got hired full-time where i've been teaching and doing web/graphic design, so we're coming into a good place.

congrats! so, what are the specs? #br's, #bath, garage, acreage? (sp?)

Vyn, it's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath affair. The kitchen is quite large and opens into the living room. There's also a loft, which is essentially a den that's on the second level.

I've been informed, though, that I can only display toys in one of the bedrooms. I cannot express how much that blows goats.

awesome... yeah, my collection is relegated to the "office" which is also the "guest room" in our apartment... it's cool, though, cuz my sugar-momma buys all the alternators for me on her target card, anyway!

Mrs Anarky wants a toy-free living room and master bedroom. I'm trying to convince her to let me hang at least a SW poster (probably Clone Wars II, the ESB teaser, or the TPM teaser) on one of the walls in a "common" area, but I doubt it will be to any avail.

The loft is going to be a game room. The funny thing is, last year at Comic Con Hasbro was giving away these cool ass posters of Duke playing poker with Cobra Commander (to promote the failed GIJoe trading card game). She insisted on getting one, getting the artists' autographs, and said it will hang in the game room. And she can't name a single Joe aside from Snake Eyes (because he's the coolest. . . sorry, Commander, second coolest after you, your majesty) and Duke (because that pussy was so prominent in the old cartoon).

Ours is working out to be a major pain in the ass in a lot of ways, but once it's done it'll be SWEET- anyone visiting Niagara (from our select group, that is) is invited to come for a visit
It sounds like you have a pretty sweet arrangement toy-display wise- I'm kinda not allowed to have ANYTHING out since we moved, so count yourself lucky (I think jjreason actually has to keep some figs in his pockets just so they're on hand and out of sight at certain times, though, so it could be worse..)
Hopefully once you get setteld you can post a pic or two- we will as soon as the pics come back from the printers-
we could have a "war of the fools homes" kinda like on PBS [beard]

Ya know, I have gone over the toy placement with my wife too and she is against any of it being displayed except in the selected room. It blows as. She wants to do movie posters in a hallway, but none can be SW. I mean How can you have movie posters lined up with no SW???????

It's ok, though. After a while you tend to forget exactly what you have. Then one day, you start going through some boxes, and it's like Christmas and your birthday all rolled into one. That's when you know it's time to start purging some of your stuff.
