Christmas is ruined....

Not 100%, but close.

We got a tree a few days ago. Quite a beautiful one. Due to the rain, we had to let it dry out and didn't get the lights on until last night. Spent the morning decorating, putting up all our ornaments, some of which were fragile, expensive, and awesome (like Jessica Rabbit vamping it up on a Christmas ball). Of course, there was about six gallons of water in the base.

And the whole thing toppled over this afternoon. Took a few hours to clean up the water and glass. All the cool ornaments are gone (aside from a few that were plastic, like Batman and Space Ghost). The floor got flooded and some of the baseboards warped. It came down at a 45* angle from the corner; if it had fallen at a different angle, it would've killed the baby. As it was, it fell on the couch, where Mrs A and my daughter were not, but would've been had it happened two minutes earlier or later.

So Christmas here is canceled. Meaning no one's coming to visit; we're going somewhere else. I think A Jr will be scarred for life from seeing a severed Buzz Lightyear head come hurtling across the floor at her.

Although the fact noone was hurt could be a Christmas Miracle.

Wow. At least everyone is ok.

We have an artificial tree so we don't have to mess with needles and water. Between the dogs and excited kids, we've been luck enough to not have it get knocked over.

that fucking sucks hard knobs.

our christmas is not at home this year due to the fact that we have no first floor, but that was more or less planned. changing your christmas plans so late in the game really must suck. thankfully no one was hurt. any idea what caused it to topple?

It'll definitely make for good stories though. My mom has a picture of there Christmas tree they called "The Miserable Bitch" and it's leaning against the coat closet. Since it was blocking the closet everyone just threw there jackets on top of it.

Make the best of it, 'Nark.
