HOLY FUCKING SHIT!! I'm sure that, like me, you grew up knowing for certain that we would
NEVER be able to know this. And, in just two years, scientists have rather conclusively determined the coloration of
TWO dinosaurs. (Unfortunately, they're both rather boring color-wise, but, still,
HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!)
Since I became a dinosaur nerd as a youngster, the notion that they were warm-blooded (then such a fringe idea that it didn't even get mentioned in books) has become the norm, we know that an Everest-sized chunk of iridium-rich space rock hit off the coast of Mexico and finished them off (even if the reasons they were on a severe decline prior haven't been determined), we know that most theropods (at the very least) sported feathers at some point in their lives, and, now, we know the color of those feathers.
Would it be too embarrassingly dorky to admit that reading that a second dino had its color determined was an emotionally powerful moment?

Yes. Yes it would.
Also, the Japanese are insane. But that is completely unrelated.

Dinosaurs were all gay.
You can tell because all their names end with 'sore ass'

I preferred it when the dinosaurs were whichever color I chose. In my mind, brontosaurus will always be pink. Fuck science.

I wasn't doubting that Dinosaurs were gay. I was just pointing out that in their day they weren't known as dinosaurs.
How could you doubt that a T-Rex was gay when it has flappy wrist little arms like that?

Ahhh. Gotcha.
I had an argument with my teacher once along similar lines. He was lamenting Native Americans being called such as he had just as much right to be called Native American because he was also born here.
And I said N.A.s didn't give themselves that name. They called themselves Lakota, Navajo, etc, which translated from each of the some 500 different unique languages they had ALL translated as "People".
Some PC doucher thought up Native American to differentiate from the equally ignorant "Indian". And maybe if you're ancestors had left them all the fuck alone and not stolen their land, you wouldn't have to bitch about not getting to be called Native American.

Sort of like "African-American." I use it with people I don't know, because I don't know what they want to be called. Everyone that I know? They prefer "Black." Because they're not from Africa.
You know who is African-American? Scarlett Johansson. And Dave Matthews.
BTW, "Indians" did not come about because Columbus thought he was in India and misnamed them. That's a common myth like George Washington and the fucking cherry tree. He said they were a "people in God." As in "en Dios."

Or 'white Rhino' when it's actually a 'Wide Rhino'... Maybe it was the other way round. Or is that a myth perpetuated to show how ignorant white explorers and colonialists were? Along the lines of them pointing at something in the distance and asking 'what's that?' and the native guide saying 'Botswana'. So the explorer duly writes on a map 'Botswana' then years later it's discovered that it actually means 'the end of your finger you fool'. Which it doesn't but you get my gist.

So, at some point, the dinosaurs collectively went on a health kick, subsequently farted less, and kicked off an Ice Age.
Let this be a lesson to all of you. If you don't eat greasy fast food, you will start an apocalypse that will destroy us all!! Heed the plight of the dinosaurs!!
