What does this mean for the Bumblebee movie set in the 80s?
Kinda pointless to have a prequel movie for a dead series.

Can't argue with that, but I guess they didn't want to cancel it?

It was a kinda pointless movie anyway, though....

Bumble as an actual VW?

An accurate looking Seeker(whether it be Thrust or Starscream)?

My expectations at this point are buried in the bedrock at 0.0000 for anything decent from a TF movie.

Except....it’s directed by the guy that did Kubo and the Two Strings and that movie was fucking awesome. Don’t you dare get my hopes up Paramount.

Holy shit! G1 accurate Soundwave and Ravage!!!!!

I literally keep pausing and rewind those 10 frames of him ejecting Ravage from his chest.

I was excited as hell about that in the teaser the day prior.

Then the full trailer came out.

And I came all over the screen at that shot of Shockwave leading (Starscream? Blitzwing? and) a team of Seekers.

Kinda old news now, but it was officially finally cleared up at ToyFair a week or so ago: Bumblebee is a full reboot. It's obvious this was a decision made during the filmmaking process (Knight specifically said he couldn't use Megatron because he should be frozen on Earth), but, in any case, that's what it is.

So we now have a TF cinematic universe that is so far 100% fucking amazeballs.

The next movie is "Rise of the Beasts". Didn't realize the Beast Wars tv show started in 1996.

I still haven't seen any of these movies.

Watch Bumblebee. It's quite good. I know it's on Prime right now, and I think one other major streamer (either Netflix or Hulu).

Avoid the rest like the plague. They're shit. They're not even good for meme fodder and every time someone watches one of them, Jesus suffers.

Ok. Just watched Bumblebee. I thought it was predictable and kind of slow. The other movies must really be horrible.

They are. But it’s almost worth watching them to see how extravagantly they shit the bed five times in a row. Like, they kept throwing MORE money at Bay each time to make an even louder, shittier movie every time.

You could probably find the “Everything Wrong With…” on YouTube and watch each movie in like 15 minutes. You’d get the gist of the Kleenex thin plot of each one without sacrificing hours of your time.

I believe it's Ironhide who pisses on a cop in the first.

And John Turturro has the honor of referring to Devastator's balls in the second.

I shit you not on either count.

I barely made it through Bumblebee, so I probably don't have the patience to watch the others.

It was kind of cool how they slipped in "The Touch", even though the rest of the "this chick was a high diver" thing was pretty dumb.

I think they were going for the kind of thing that you'd see in an 80s teen movie. Truth be told, Bumblebee is basically a non-shit remake of the first TF movie, except Hailee is much easier on the eyes than Shia LeBOOF.
