It looks like we might actually get a good MOTU movie. I'm still not sold on the whole "Adam grows up on Earth and one day finds out he's He-Man from Eternia" angle, but it's most likely a pretty short part of the film. We already knew the cast is pretty stellar, and the trailer makes the movie look like it's going to be visually incredible, regardless of the story.

Jared Leto is unrecognizable under the (assuming?) CG. He might be in a flashback as Keldor, but I can live with it.

Teela and Evil-Lyn are both appropriately hot without being overly cheesecake.

There's been a solid history of MOTU reboots of late (even Kevin Smith's found its footing later in Season 1 and got good). Hopefully this is not the exception.

No mention of Orko yet, which is the most important thing. But the voiceover does mention talking tigers, so Battle Cat will presumably speak (also important).

That's because you're gay.

Us straight folks have a secret telepathic network for communicating about He-Man movies, but you obviously wouldn't know anything about that. ;)

I literally was looking for this trailer last weekend, and was worried because one hadn’t dropped yet.

The director is the same guy that directed the live-action Bumblebee movie, but more importantly, he’s one of the guys from Laika Studios.

Laika, if you don’t know, do stop-motion animation films; Coraline, ParaNorman, Boxtrolls, Kubo and the Two Strings, and Missing Link. The thing about stop-motion is you HAVE to get the story right, because you can’t be all loosey goosey with improv and reshoots and fixing shit in the editing room. Every shot is meticulously planned. So, I trust someone like that to take a property like this seriously and deliver a good movie.

Adam’s mother is from Earth, so the precedent is there. She’s an astronaut who crash landed on Eternia.

We try not to sexualize Evil-Lyn.

The guy playing He-Man looks like a bit of a tool though. Overall, I’m excited. I’d wager Newsbot is too

The best description I've seen so far has been "Masters of the Guardians of the Galaxy of the Universe."

I didn’t get a sense of Gunn’s mirth from the trailer. So I’d say it’s less GotG and closer to the first couple of Thor movies. You can practically swap out Asgard and Eternia and not tell the difference.
