Animated Ultimate Avengers DVD

I managed to procure myself an early copy of this video. I think it's okay, but not fantastic - and hence wouldn't recommend dumping the $15 it may cost come Tuesday. I may have the capability of sharing my copy with you - email me if you'd like me to try.

Meh, I wasnt to thrilled by the commercials for it, but I am not going ot watch it. Actually, I might get it from Netflix since its unlimited rentals

I was going to ask you guys about this. Since I'm nont into comic books, I didn't even know who the Avengers consisted of. They really are marketing the hell out of this thing, aren't they? They had ads on the internet, tv, and I heard one on the radio yesterday.

BLASPHEMY! the ultimates is one of the best comics i've ever read. ultimate cap is like, the biggest badass ever, and the shit they throw at you in every issue is like "holy crap!"

Ultimate Cap is, like, The Ultimate Tool.

Recipe for an Ultimate title:

1) Take a well-known existing Marvel title.

2) Make everyone's costumes darker.

3) Give everyone a shitty attitude and antisocial psychotic streak. (Spousal abuse or constant beating of team members optional but recommended.)

4) Condense all the origins of all characters into a super-compact Reader's Digest version that seems edgier at first but upon closer inspection is just a little too streamlined.

5) (optional but highly recommended) Change the race/gender/allegiance/sexual orientation of at least one member of the team.

I'm with Grimlock. It sounds like Dreamwave's Transformers comic book.

I can't wait for the inevitable Marvel vs Ultimates crossover. By that time, all Ultimate sales will have dwindled to the levels they should be at, and Marvel will kick their asses.
