No Sound. Please help.

Nothing is muted, my speakers are plugged in, turned on, turned up and recognized by the PC....yet I have no sound. Any idea? I've been working at it for about 20 minutes and can't figure it out.

what was it? plugged into the microphone or line-in?

No, some email Jodi opened caused the "wave" volume in the main volume settings (taskbar volume) to be reduced to zero. Once I saw that, I raised it and voici voila, Bob was my uncle once again.

The only time I crapped mayonnaise it was in the shower and it wasn't really mayonnasie.
