Stupid Question about controllers for PS2

Right, so I figured my PS2 controller would benefit from me opening it up and cleaning it out- after cleaning the fucking thing out and putting it back together as best as I could manage it seems permanently FUCKED- anyone else ever manage to open one up and get it back working again??

There's a little flexible circuit-thingy of sorts that is kinda under the left-hand stick and it didn't seem to be attached to anything, it seems like that is the part I fucked up, like it has to be aligned in the PERFECT way or it will just get all crossed up

So am I getting a new one (which I will keep clean and NEVER open) or is there some way to salvage it short of paying double what it's worth to have it repaired??

Just a cautionary tale if nothing else, they sure aren't like the controllers of old dammit

I did the same thing with my cell phone. There was some tiny piece of something rattling inside and I opened it up to find out what it was. Short story; I had to get a new phone.

I've never taken mine apart, mabs, but I'd suggest there'd be some cheap ones on sale at a pawn shop near you - what with the next gen systems in full blow takeover mode and all.

JJ has a pretty good point there. Do you guys have EB Games, Gamestop, or some sort of new/used video game store up there?

If you have the cash, I'd get a Logitec wireless PS2 controller. Wireless is awesome and Logitec is the best brand. I had a MadCatz wireless controller first, but it started acting strange and started crapping out.

No worries- we got a new one, and now TRU is selling 2 controllers, new,real ones for 11 bucks
