I've been pretty much boycotting about 99% of what Hollywood churns out simply because it sucks.

At least they're in talks. Hopefully it'll get resolved while there are still new shows coming out (even though I know it'll take a while for post-strike shows to air).
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Re: Writers' strike likely
Okay. So there's some big ass petition to support the WGA, with like 60,000+ signatures on it so far. I don't mean to be rude, but fuck your ignorant asses if you are signing it because you percieve the writer's as some kind of underdogs in this. I'm not saying turn all pro-Studio, but if you don't know what the fuck is going on, then don't put your ignorant two cents in.
Here's what is going to happen. The Multi Billionaire Studios are going to give the $200K a year making writers ( who stroll into the office around 10:00 AM and leave by 4:00) their residual bonuses, so they'll be making $250K a year now.. Everybody is happy. The writers go back to writing and the studio looks at it's budget and says "Hey. We need to cut costs. So this guy that was making $32,000 a year is now going to be making $26,000. And the budget for this dept. (costumes for example) is going to be $10,000 less, so they have to fire a couple of the lower end people, and also make everything LOOK like what we were spending before, but for $XX.XX less than you were. Same goes for everyone who is "Under the line". Editors, Visual FX, Sound people, Camera Dept. Etc etc etc. Now instead of trashcans getting emptied every day, Jose and Manuel got laid off, and Rosita is working in the janitorial dept all by herself. And she can't make it to all 40 buildings on the lot in one day.
Because I guaran-damn-tee you, the Studio heads and all the upper tier Executive's aren't taking any paycuts. It's all going to fall on the little people.
So all you people who signed the petition are basically supporting 12,000 wealthy guys who just became wealthier, and fucked over 10 times, maybe 20 times as many people who are making barely enough to get by. Congratulations. If you don't understand what's going on, then your ignorant fucking ass shouldn't be slapping you name on a "trendy" signature list.
Assholes.
PS. Kidhuman is right, also. This will come back to bite you, the consumer, in the ass as well. Higher prices on everything. YOU are paying for the Writer's residuals. Because they make in one epsiode, what you earn in a year. That sound's fair right?
This isn't directed at anyone here specifically, just a tirade.

Re: Writers' strike likely
It was a good one, too.
I don't give a rat's ass about the writers' strike but I'm SICK AND FUCKING TIRED of hearing about it every time some douchey actor gets 10 seconds of screen time. Guess what? Almost everyone thinks MODERN TV AND MOVIES SUCK these days, you fucking idiots - WE DON'T CARE about your stupid fucking strike.
Sorry, but if someone's going to rant I often feel like I want to get my 2 cents in there, too.

Re: Writers' strike likely
The first day back, The -- er, A -- Daily Show was pretty rough. Jon Stewart seemed mopey and was doing shit that didn't translate very well (I couldn't tell if he was for or against the strike, or what the hell was going on). It's gotten better, and the Colbert Report is still pretty good, but this has really shown how much they need their writers.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.
