Powerpuff Girls Season 1 comes to DVD on Tuesday!

How the hell has this been so low-profile? Did all the massive appeal of two years ago already vanish into thin air?

I might not be able to get this immediately (since I just found out about it when I opened the Best Buy sales ad and hadn't planned for it), but this is a definite must-have.

If you're going to say this show is stupid and talk about what a pussy I am for wanting it, I'll have to assume you never watched it. Any supposedly kids' show that has blood and teeth in the opening, and makes regular references to the Beatles, Monty Python, and even South Park, is a fucking cool program in my book, and you can suck my dick if you don't like it.

i agree with you on the quality of the show, and can only assume that the low-energy release of the volume is due to the fact that the larger percentage of th fanbase, the 12 year old girls, are far more fickle and most of those references were lost on them. of course there's also the college kids that got high and watched it late at night, but i think they could've possibly over-looked that demographic.

I won't make fun of you because I recognize it's pop-culture hipness, but I didn't like it and watch it because those little freaks got so annoying after a few episodes I'd hope the stupid bad guy would win. And I think it's been more than two years since they were at the top of their popularity apogee.

One of the best pop culture references, from a monologue by Mojo Jojo at the end of an episode where Bubbles thinks she's Mojo Jojo for the entire episode:

I also dug when Bubbles was knocked into the closet on the rainy day episode, and came out dressed like Eric Cartman.
