Surprisingly I didn't get any "why did you buy this for me?" gifts this year.
I tried Guitar Hero last Christmas on my brother's PS3 and failed. For Christmas this year, we bought the kids Wii Music. They think it is pretty cool playing all the different instruments. I tried it without them for the first time last night. I'm not really sure how I did. In some modes it doesn't give you a score and in others it does, but says there are lots of ways to play the same song. There is one mode that is sort of like Guitar Hero. Maybe this game will develop the sense of rythm in my kids that I never had.
Oh, cruel fate, why do you mock me?

i got GH: WT as well! except i'm not an ingrate
.
kidding. i know what it's like to get something you're not interested in. in an ironic twist of fate, before being presented with the ginormous GH box, my brother and i were each presented with a hand-held car vac, so we maintain our tenuous 'alternate reality versions of each other' connection that i seem to remember we've each commented on in the past. or maybe i made that up.

God damn you all, I blame you.
I figured I had this very expensive game, so I should try it. When I actually was able to learn how to play, and not just hearing, "There's nothing to it," it's pretty entertaining. Not the greatest game of all times people think it is, but not bad at all.
And, no, I don't think that because I can play "Stranglehold" on a game, I'm anything close to Ted Nugent when it comes to the real thing.

i haven't even opened mine yet, but that's more due to spacial constraints in the new house... we've got a little semblance of order going on in the new digs now, so maybe i'll break it out.
though i'd have to tear myself away from spider-man: web of shadows first. that game is really cool.
