That's what we need: DVR. That way I can record The Seven Samurai and actually see it. It only ever airs on IFC at around 12-2 in the morning. Considering it's over three hours, that's an all-nighter there.

It's tough when you're trying to cut back on blind buys to justify a DVD that won't come down from $30 without seeing it, even if the five minutes you've seen is enough to know it's as good as it's purported to be.

ah, yes... well, that's when working at tower records really payed off: the discount. 10% above cost. most of my collection of DVD's is because of my tenure there. i got 'seven samurai' and 'yojimbo' plus every season of x-files... i special-ordered 'sanjuro' but it never arrived for some reason.
