Batman Begins: The best superhero film of all time

What's with the alien face?

I don't get this Flornbi kid. Is he touched? Y'know, in the head?
"No Tom Foolery today, Ron. I'm tired of looking at your dreadful, speckled mug."
"Why do you hurt me in this way, Harry?"

is that a promise, snigtad?

well, bane comes to gotham to meet his sister catwoman. together they decide to break into the gotham national bank and steal some jewels, but batman stops them. bane gets all mad and punches batman right in the dick. yup, right square in the dick, hard enough to shatter his balls. so batman has to walk with a cane. catwoman is jealous because she wanted to have sex with him, but now he can't get it up. so, while bane comes up with all sorts of proposals for a reality show he wants to host that feature explosions and football, catwoman wears sexier and sexier outfits. finally, in the end, batman sees dick grayson for the first time and gets an erection. hence, the dark knight rises.

i'll be waiting, loverboy. :heybaby:

The fact this guy pussied out & was arrested peacefully behind the building is the worst part. He should have been nut shot/gut shot & left to bleed while the survivors took turns kicking him in the face. That might stop these fucking assholes from doing this stuff. Fucking cowards.

Apparently they interviewed his mother this morning, and this came as no shock to her.

That bitch should be in jail, too.

Senor, can you and your bouncing boobs avatar check in, as you're the last person I know in Colorado I've not heard from (or about) this morning? Also, I just like seeing the boobs.

No, but he liked my comment on the Book of Faces about wanting a real-life vigilante like Batman (who has morals, as opposed to the batshit insane real-world vigilantes) to deal with motherfuckers like this twit.

I just got back from the IMAX showing.

In a word: EPIC.

I don't know about all that Best Picture palaver, or people crying at the end of the film, but it was a damn fine summer flick.

I'll let it soak in a bit and come back later with specifics.

Very briefly (more thoughts later):

Aurora is about 30 minutes from where Adam used to live.

As for the movie itself: Holy shit! Amazing!

It's funny, but I'm finding it easier to make note of things I did not like about the film. All the little nits I want to pick. And if I did that you'd probably get the impression I loathed the film. But the opposite is true.

First, why eight years? Why not two? Or five? Especially given the relatively short amount of time between Begins and TDK. Batman wouldve only been around for a few months, and most of that would've been 'urban legend' type situation. Nearly a decade later, he'd hardly be as relevant as the Myth they make him out as. It would be more 'Some vigilante nut ran around for a few months eight years ago and then probably died'

Bane was 66% intelligible, and 33% mumble marble mouth. I'm going to have to get the DVD and put the subtitles on.

Nolan dropped a lot of the foreshadowing like a wet trout. The scene with Bruce Wayne and Blake in the car where he says "Anyone can wear the mask" I was like WOW. It'd have been more subtle if Bale had stopped the car, looked right at the audience and said "He's gonna be the new Batman!" And it happened in a few other places in the film. It was like a roadmap to obviousville.

Anne Hathaway did a wonderful job as Selina. She captured her 'look out for número uno' mentality wonderfully.

Even if I didn't know the lore of the characters the scene Where Bane takes Lucius, Miranda, and the old guy from Wayne Enterprises down to basement with the power source and they threaten the old man. When Miranda says "Oh we should just turn it on" that's when I knew she was in cahoots with Bane. So when she turned out to be Talia I was waiting for it. The switch with her being the 'child' that climbed out got me, but only because they were pretty faithful to Bane's origin, so I didn't have any reason to assume a swap.

That guy is the only nuclear phycisist on the planet? Really!? That part was dumb. For me at least.

The flirting between Bruce and Selina After Bruce came back from the prison seemed out of place. It's like Hello, a nuke is going off in twelve hours and you guys are being meet cute kissy face?

The "dramatic" scene between Gordon and Blake after Bane reads the letter seemed unnecessary.

As anarky correctly deduced, this borrows from Knightfall and No Man's Land.

It's kind of a bummer it sets up potential sequel we will probably never see. Even if Nolan and Bale didn't come back, I would still prefer a fourth film in this series to another inevitable reboot and yet another origin film.

I know several folks in the Denver area, but JJL's the only person I know who I was concerned might be at a midnight showing of any movie.

JJL, that's our fancy way of saying, "We love you, man." Now don't ever fucking ask us to say that again.

There's a difference between sex and love, bro.

I'm not saying again what I said about JJL.

But you and me, Rollo, that's strictly a booty call.
