As shitty as Heroes Reborn is/was/is, that Crossing/Timeslide bullshit with a mass murderer Tony Stark working for Kang since Avengers #1 was WAYYYY worse. That shit was ATROCIOUS.

It's why they had to throw up their hands and say 'Fuck it' and move ahead with Heroes Reborn in the first place. Avengers was so bad, they had to call Mulligan on the whole damn thing. It was like a Scorched Earth situation.

Kang had been subliminally controlling Stark for years, and got him to kill a bunch of Avengers supporting cast(including the female Yellowjacket). The teen Tony was yanked from an alternate dimension/time period before he became Iron Man. The original Tony killed himself and the young Tony took over the IM book for about 12 issues.

Then HR happened. After HR was the Heroes Return reboots in 1998. When Franklin brought everybody back, he made Tony his original age, but I believe he had memories of both the young and old versions. They've never spoken of it since. Nor has Tony ever been punished for killing like six people. No arrest. No trial. No prison. Nothing.
