The NEW rants section
Okay, first post in the "newer, old forums"
I figure we can all rant here again about our fave/most troublesome games....
Oh, and JJ, couldya post that damn PS2 phone number again please???
I bought Jedi Starfighter for the PS2 a week or so ago and it's pretty cool, for an older title... the scenes with Dooku in them were really cool, I was glad to get some more quality-time with the Count
The game hasn't posed too much of a problem for me yet, but I'm sure that'll change
And I'm still having a hell of a time on the "Laboratory" board vs Doc Ock in spidey 2, that fucking bastard

1-800-345-SONY. Mine came back cleaned and everything, might I add.
I got some good deals at Blockbuster, not sure if I posted this before or not. Splinter Cell and SC2: Pandora Tomorrow are wicked games. Also got Wolverine for 14 and Fellowship of the Rings for 10.
I got started on Final Fantasy VIII when my PS2 was gone, but have taken a break over the past week or so. The characters don't really do anything for me, like they did right off the bat in the other FF games I've played.
My gaming lately (sadly enough) has been online poker. I'm an addicted bitch (again, sadly enough).

God fucking DAMN IT!!! I cannot beat the battle of Endor stage on fucking BATTLEFRONT for the life of me. CockSUCKER. Fuckity fucking fuck. Every other stage I've played through without THAT much difficulty, this is just terrible. I even managed to blow up the bunker once - but it didn't help. Piss me off piece of fucking shitty fucking shit.
Awesome, let you anger flow, JJ
All I can say is make sure you grab all the vehicles you can... I don't recall having too much trouble with that board... maybe try to lie low until ya get an AT ST or something like that???
How are ya liking the game besides that board???
Jedi Starfighter is still actually fun btw, and I'm making steady progress on wolverine, I'm about to fight Juggernaut I think , if I can ever get past all those fucking hovering drones.. I always make it good distance then fuck up and start running around like an idiot, then those big wall mounted cannons rip poor wolvie to shreds... that game has some nasty fucking bits in it, almost reminiscent of old NES games where there would be one jump that you simply had to nail EXACTLY right or else start over, like that fucking Beetlejuice game, or that fucking useless "friday the 13th" which I never knew anyone who even understood that stupid thing

I actually beat Endor, and have now started the Clone Wars era stuff. I was playing "Historic Campaign" or whatever, because my disc was locking up on the Galactic Domination type thing. I wound up exchanging discs, and that part is now working fine. I think I'll finish going through the planets on the part I've started first, then switch over. Apparently there are some pretty cool bonuses you can employ once you've taken over a planet or two.
It was cool to have to avoid Vader on Hoth, and even cooler when Luke joined our side (not sure how they determined when those were going to happen or not) - but they were never involved in the same fight sadly enough. Mace Windu helped us destroy the battle droids on Geonosis as well, which was pretty fun. I didn't find the Gladiator type arena on that level though, does it exist?

SO i'm ranting....fucking ranting about an old game that i got for a good deal....spidey 2....i like swinging around their bad mock up of my great city...they did get the UES wrong, which sucks, cause I was hoping to find my apartment...also can't find the studio that I work for which is on the west side, but whatever....it still is a shit load of fun swinging around playing super hero....but damn it I hate when cames have tasks that you have to do to move on and that when you can't do what should be a simple thing, like an obstacle course set up in the "Arena" (MSG)...i'm not sure what my hang up is, but man does it suck.....fuckin' psycho whoever shoots me every friggin' time....i tried to just web him, cause heck you should be allowed to, it's not cheatin' just because you can fuckin' web people with your super powers, fuckin' a....
alright, it's out now....thanks

oh, man... hung up on mysterio??? you suck at being spidey!!! (just kidding...)
yeah, i can't remember exactly what you need to do, uh... damn. been so long since i played that game, all i can think of is ulitmate spider-man and the hulk...
i think you need to use your spidey-sense duck'n'dodge thing, but i can't remember...

SOCOM 3 online is nowhere near as cool as SOCOM II online. They made sniping waaaaaay too easy. It used to require some degree of skill, now it just requires about five seconds of patience until the aiming retical stops bobbing and weaving and you can shoot anything with 100% accuracy. At least single player is better.
Back on my spidey 2 rant....freakin' fightin' doc oc sucks...i mean come one, you have to get around plasma burst which your spidey sense doesn't warn you about, stay away from the doc, turn off switches and you can't fall in the water and then every once in a while you spidey sense will tingle to let you know that a big bolt of something is coming your way. But not everytime....why can't you just swing around....why does there always have to be a purpose....next time i see those guys from activision I'm gonna let them have a piece of my mind.

That last Doc Ock fight is one annoying mother fucker.
Took me a while to beat it.
I think it's one of those things where every time you play it you get just a tiny bit better until you get good/lucky enough to finish it.
Or maybe it would have been easier if I wasn't all hopped up on caffeine at 3am on my 6th hour of playing the game in a row...
