The Life and Times of Tim

most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

The Life and Times of Tim

Post by anarky »

New animated show on HBO. I saw the first one this morning, and it was a mixed bag. There are two minisodes in each 30 minute episode. The first, about his girlfriend coming home with her parents and finding him with a hooker, was lame as hell. The second, wherein three guys come up with stories to hide the fact that a bachelor party is a miserable disaster, and Tim somehow gets on the bad end of a story about him being abused by a bum outside the club had me fucking rolling on the floor.

Will it be funny in the long run? I don't know. But the bachelor party story was fucking hilarious.

I just caught an episode and thought it was pretty good. It wasn't nonstop funny, but it had some damn hilarious moments.

In the first part Tim has to take his boss' daughter to her prom in order to get a promotion.
In the very beginning Tim and his girlfriend are at the video store. The clerks tells them that Tim has a porn called Crazy Club Whores overdue by 65 days. Tim denies ever renting it but his girlfriend gets pissed and storms out, then the clerk tells Tim it was a mistake, it was The Notebook that was overdue.

And the second part had Tim attempting to be nice to an elderly man by giving him his seat on the subway which ends up turning into a boxing match between Tim and the old guy. The old guy slapping Tim on the subway was hilarious.
"As they say in China, 'Arrivederci'!"

I caught up with this show on HBO On Demand. This show is a fuckin' riot! I loved the second and third episodes, especially the episode where Tim pretends to be Latino/The wedding with the drunk priest. I was dying when Tim felt up his girlfriend's grandmother. HBO's on a roll lately. This and "Little Britain USA" are genius, and "True Blood" is pretty good, too.
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.

Slobber on my ass pubes, Grimlock!

So I caught up with the rest of the season via HBO On Demand. Man, Stu has gotta be the funniest character on American television in a long time. He's so hilarious that I thought I'd pay tribute to him with an avatar.
