LOS ANGELES – Charlie Sheen is looking at a future without "Two and a Half Men." Hopefully the rest of us will be soon, too.

According to a person close to the actor, Sheen has told friends that he wants to leave the hit CBS comedy in which he's starred for seven years, calling it "the seven most shaming years of my life."

The person spoke Thursday on condition of anonymity because Sheen had made the remarks in private and had not intended them to be discussed publicly. This is likely because a deal with Satan was likely involved.

"Two and a Half Men," which also stars Jon Cryer, is the top-rated comedy on TV, proving that the vast majority of American television viewers are at least partially retarded. Last year, in violation of the Geneva Convention, CBS gave the show a three-year renewal, through the 2011-12 season, but Sheen's contract is up at the end of the current season.

Sheen's desire to exit the sitcom was reported by People magazine online Thursday. It was reported that he finally scraped up enough self-respect to not want anything more to do with such a festering pool of dog snot.

yeah, how exactly is Curb a classic style sitcom?
Don't get me wrong, it's definitely one of my all time favorite shows...but when it comes to classic style comedy, I think of the crap Diablo posted.

And Diablo, I agree, I figured I would hate 2.5 Men but when I watched a handful, I found it watchable...some funny sleazy comments from Charlie.

I've only seen a few minutes of 2 1/2 Men, so I really don't have an opinion on it. But those Hanes commercials with Michael Jordan are annoying.

Its the only traditional-style sitcom (three walls) I can tolerate.

The closest thing to a current sitcom I can tolerate is Curb Your Enthusiasm. I'm okay with disagreeing and am not judging anyone by what they like, but Two and a Half Men makes my head hurt.

I much prefer HIMYM to TwoanaHalf. Hell, I think I prefer Chuck Lorre's other show BigBangTheory to twoanaHalf. They just seem to telegraph their jokes on Two way too much. The set-ups to the puchlines are way too obvious to me. Don't get me wrong, its better than a lot...most of the other sitcoms on TV (fuck you, The Middle) but I wouldn't put it at number one.
